Assuming Mayweather gets past Mosley on May 1st, and the negotiations resume between both Mayweather and Pacquiao's camps. Would the negotiations pick up from were they left off? This would no doubt be the easiest way, even though they stalled over the random blood testing.

If Mayweather Mosley does better than Clottey Pacquiao, which I'm guessing it will do, then it's almost inevitable Mayweather's camp is going to ask for the bigger split. I was just wondering whether it would be easier to stick to what was negotiated over New Year, and try to iron out any differences.

With Mosley already agreeing to Mayweather's random blood testing, (I don't know any of the specifics) it may work out that Pacquiao may be more willing to accept a cut-off date towards the 14 day proposed. Or even Mayweather accepting 20 days...

    mayweather will back out

mayweather NEEDS pacquiao, not the other way around

if the fight doesnt happen pac can go back and knock the hell out of alexander and bradley to increase his legacy while mayweather will be left to fight matthew hatton

How do you work out that Pacquiao doesn't need Mayweather? They both need each other, and boxing needs this bout to happen.
All you hear out of Pacquiao's camp is Mayweather, Roach throws names around, but even they know that this is Pacquiao's career defining bout. Same with Mayweather, Mosley won't be Floyd's career defining bout, Pacquiao will be.

Also, Pacquiao beating Bradley and Alexander will not increase his legacy. Pacquiao has already knocked out a more accomplished 140lber in Hatton.

The reason pacman could get away without floyd is because as i stated beating good boxers increases legacy

by going back down and dominating the 140 again it will make him that bit more better.

think of it this way, if the fight doesnt happen

matthew hatton at 147 or bradley at 140?

there will be like no1 left at 147 after mosley and mayweather if pac and floyd dont fight but the 140 is getting packed now

Despite the anger at March 13 falling through, a fall fight may actually work out better...if Floyd beats Shane, that is.....this way...perhaps the fight will be bigger that what it would have been in March because Shane is seen as the true WW champion...

It's inevitable the Mayweather/Mosley numbers will surpass the Pac/Clottey fight. However, this in no way warrants Floyd to demand a bigger piece of the cake. Whether he likes it or not, Pac is just as big of a star as he is.

Neither man has the right to demand more than the other.

As for the drug tests, that's the only thing I can see preventing the fight from taking place

They both need each other. Don't kid yourself.

If they don't end up fighting each other, both legacies will be affected.

if it goes back to negotiations and he (pac) bitches out again with some ego nonsense, and still refuses the testing, only to drop down to 140 again, he will have 2 huge shadows lingering over him

Floyd is fighting someone on May 1 who Manny wouldn't fight.

    You're coming across like a *******.

its mayweather ego just as much as pacs that caused this fight to go down the pan. mayweather is just as much to blame. funny how his 40 previous fights didnt have drug testing until he fought someone who people thought has a good chance...

    but hold on a sec

why are we talking about floyd and pac?

shouldnt we be talking about mosley and pac?

He will still be going over old ground though. Beating good boxers will no doubt increase legacy, but he will be looking at beating the great boxers at this stage in his career to cement his place among the best, Mayweather is one of them. People keep saying Pacquiao doesn't need him, but Pacquiao has stated he wants the bout because he knows if he wins, he is beating a five weight world champion.

Matthew Hatton?...the only reason he was mentioned was because Floyd wanted to box in England, if he really wanted to face Hatton, he would be by now.
