Can I firstly start out by saying 2 things. I am a huge fan of this site (not necessarily always the forums) and I am a big fan of both Pacquaio and Mayweather. I believe Floyd would win the fight if they ever fought. Ok we all know about Manny's refusal to not agreeing to Olympic style drug testing. Manny has agreed to be tested for blood up until 24 days before the fight and immediately after the fight. He is willing to give urine all the way. Let's think of the worst case scenario that Pacman was on drugs all this time. People that know about Steriods and EPO know what advantages they can give you. You can train harder, for longer. Right?. For the Mayweather fight, Pacquaio would not be able to take drugs because he could be tested an anytime the whole way to the lead up to the fight. Right up to 24 days. Anyone that'd ever trained for a fight knows training tends to slow down with about 10 days to go before the fight (taking drugs in these 10 days before the fight would be pointless, as they would offer no advantage), so that you are fit and rested. So what do people think Pacquaio is going to be doing for that 2 week window (between resting and blood testing stopping) before the fight? Popping as many drugs as he can get in, while in the meantime hoping he doesn't get caught!? I mean are people serious! What kind of advantage would Manny get by taking drugs for 2 weeks? Seriously like, think about it. Never once has there been any suspicion about Manny before the Mayweathers opened their mouths. Now one in every two of you guys are saying yep, Manny won't take the test because he is on drugs. He won't take the test because he wants to be at his physical and mental peak before fight-time. He won't take the test because the Nevada State Commision or Boxing organisation are not asking him to take the tests. Floyd Mayweather is! Please read the below article carefully. He is quite specific on why he will not give blood to close to the fight. Why are people so cynical that they won't take a man for his word!? http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slu...thervspacquiao The problem on this site is black and white attitude. Manny won't take the test = Manny is a juicer. Despite the fact there is no evidence WHATSOEVER, despite the fact he is a man of god, despite the fact he is trained by a world renowned trainer whose reputation is ruined if his star pupil is a cheater, despite the fact he has continually denied taking drugs (saying before the Clottley fight that he had no idea what a steriod even is!). I mean what do people think if there was Olympic style drug testing for every fight? Do they think Manny would just quit boxing!? Whoops might get caught Freddie better quit! I'm sure it would be a problem for Manny clearly, but he wouldn't have a choice but to comply, if this style of testing was the standard for every boxer. The fight probably won't happen. I personally think there is blame on both sides and I personally think neither fighter wants the fight as much as the fans do.
I hope the fight happens, I really do. As far as people who have the opinion that Manny is on drugs, well Manny only further opened that door by refusing to take the tests. I want to believe that Manny is clean, but I have my doubts. If the fight does happen I really hope they take the tests for two reasons. One, I want to know that Manny is clean. Two, I will be rooting for Manny to win, so of course I want to be rooting for a clean fighter. Though, I would root for Manny, my pick would be Mayweather by decision. Mayweather is truly that good. Who can beat him? I don't know.
It's pretty clear that Floyd's farce of wanting to 'clean up the sport', is a front for wanting to gain a mental edge come fight night. Pacquiao has every right to refuse to bend to the will of a guy who has shamelessly has accused him of cheating, with no proof what so ever! Never before on this board (or any where else in the boxing) has there been such an ardent call for the sport to clean up. Even when real cheats such as Mosley, Vargas and Toney were caught, never was there a cry (of this magnitude) for drug testing procedures to be changed. But now, a former drug dealer who's suspicious of a guy because he's been fighting good, launches his own theories about him being on PED's (based on nothing but envy), you suddenlyt feal the urge to demand him to submit extended tests to prove his innocence??!! Some bull**** that!
