Odd, considering he holds some of the highest compubox totals in history. Stop speaking on a fighter you know nothing about please.
what are you on about? the reason whitaker holds such high compubox numbers is because he was such an elusive counter puncher, opponents just couldnt land on him. he was not an aggressive puncher that would be constantly throwing trying to land the big shot. mayweather was not exactly a come forward fighter himself however he had amazing speed and an excellent defence. thats why i believe these two of the very best lighter weight fighters of all time would cancel each other out in a very tactical fight with neither willing to come forward to much knowing there opponents abilities HENCE in terms of punches landed the compubox numbers would be very very low. and ive seen every pro fight by both fighters so i think i do know about pernell whitaker
Whitaker was often an aggressive fighter in that he'd press the fight. The fact that he wasn't looking for singuler bombs helps his case out i anything, as he was more focused on landing often and in quantity than quality(quality in terms of power, not in terms of effectivenes or clean punching). He had a very high workrate, especially with his jab, which is what would put Mayweather more than likely on the defensive or cause him to be outworked. Whitaker never switched it up or pussied out against anybody, his self-confidence was just too great. He'd go in on Mayweather with something to prove
