Floyd showed up at fight night weighing 146.If Canelo shows up weighing 154 at the weigh-in,and then 154 on fight night, then who will complain? But you and I know Canelo will not weigh the same thing on the night of the weigh-in and then on fight night as well.So the situation is different.

How are you "moving up" when you weigh the exact same? Pacquaio has been a welterweight for a long time.

So I guess Canelo will be moving down 3 weight classes to face Floyd since he is a LHW.

Canelo would pay a fine, the fight would go on, and Mayweather would still win. Next question?

floyds face at the weigh in would be hilarious... canelo hits 154, jus shrugs.... gives a little grin to floyd an walks off while mayweather throws the biggest tantrum ever

Alright glad you are not being a hypocrite about it.

Double standards going around lately is rather sickening.

Hate to say it, but many fighters balloon up in weight on the night of the fight. Doesn't change the fact that when a fighter has never fought in a weight class and officially moves up to it then they have in fact moved up in weight. It's not hard to understand. Canelo weighed 171 against Trout. If he fought Dawson right after Mayweather would you be saying he really didn't move up 3 weight divisions and he was always a LHW?

i think what he's saying is that Floyd's weigh in weight is usually just about the same as his fight night weight. He doesn't balloon 10+ lbs over night.

I've got no problem with catchweights as long as titles are not on the line, if they are then I never give the full credit for winning them.

The big problem for Cotto was that he was stitched up into putting his title on the line by Arum and Pacquiao.

the flip side of this is how many people will flip the other way and try to play down a Mayweather victory because of the catchweight when they didn't with Pacquiao over Cotto?
