Canelo would gas by round 4 and be airlifted to a hyperbaric chamber if he ever attempted to fight the way Maidana fought.

    Canelo did have stamina issues.

However, that doesn't alter my point.

The main difference between the two fights ( Floyd/ Canelo and Floyd / Maidana) was the fighting style of the two opponents.

The fighting style, or, shall we say, largely the physical dimensions and capablities of his opponents. Maidana can't fight like Canelo does, Canelo has faster hands, better defense, but Canelo doesn't have the long arms of Maidana. I'm not disagreeing with you that his opponents were very different and fought very differently against Floyd. That is a big part of it, but after taking all that into consideration, the approach and preparation from Floyd was also very different. His condition and the tactics employed from Floyd were far more advanced vs Canelo. Floyd's speed and elusiveness were way better against Canelo than against Maidana. Some of that was, like you said, due to the difference in styles between Canelo and Maidana, but I'm trying to remind you of, is that, that was only part of the equation. Floyd's performance, approach and condition was also way better against Canelo. Faster hands, more dialed in, more ready to fight, etc.

I mean, okay, but that's a bit like saying Amir Khan should've fought like Floyd. It doesn't really mean anything; fighters are who they are.

Floyd was a bit sharper against Canelo, but he was also very sharp in the first Maidana fight which was, ironically, the closer of the two.

The second Maidana fight was where Floyd demonstrated, for the first time, that he was really over the hill.

In fight 1 he was in tears at the end being consoled by Ellerbe acting like a Mother hen with her chick caressing & consoling Him. :eaea: He cried " Maidana roughed me up & beat me up , it wasn't fair the referee did nothing to stop him" :crybaby2::crybaby2:ROFL This is the fight game Floyd its YOUR job to stop your opponent from beating you up NOT the referee's ROFL. Joe Cortez wasn't ref tonight . LOL But Leonard fixed it for you didn't he he hired Kenny Bayless to protect you. plus the pillows you made Maidana wear lol Marcos was beaten BEFORE he got in the ring
