You might be right, but even if that is true. If many really wanted that fight, considering he's the star of top rank. It could of been done.

    That was tried before with
    Bowe - Holyfield
    Lewis - Ruddock

The winners to meet. But Bowe saw what Lewis did to Ruddock and renaged on the deal Floyd would do exactly the same thing

Let me start by saying Mayweather-Pacquiao should be the top priority for May's next fight, but I don't see why this is a bad fight if it comes off.

There have been wayyy worse/ less competitive fight's between named fighters that have had rematches that get praised(Pac-MAB II/EM III quickly come to mind since there constantly compared) so I don't see the big deal.

2 Hofer's, 2 ATG's(Cotto is borderline but is def an ATG Rican fighter) rematching for a major title.

The argument's against it are basically Mayweather should fight Pacquaio even though Pac has turned him down three times

(before you give me all the talk about Floyd not giving fair offer's, when has anybody ever cared about offer's being fair for both fighter's unless it's Manny who's on the wrong end of it).

On the other side you have Cotto should fight GGG even though without question taking Mayeather's 0 and is worth 1000x more than beating GGG, even beating Canelo right now is worth more legacy wise (Let's be real if Cotto was to beat Golvokin wouldn't be called a great win but simply that GGG was a hypejob fair or not).

In all honesty I'd prefer Mayweather beat's Pacquiao in May to unify 3 WW titles, then taking on the Cotto-Canelo winner in Sept for 3 simultaneous Lineal titles, but if the Pac fight can't get made which is doubtful bring on May-Cotto 2 realistically that's the second biggest Legacy fight Mayweather could take right now.

mayweather fan but not really interested in this fight, may has proven that a rematch only leads to wider result for floyd, cotto is fighting at 160 and is the champ but does not even make 160... its like a 154 figher beating floyd, he is not a true jr middle

If Floyd CATCHweather fights anywhere above 154lbs it will be clear as water that he looks for any type of advantage for his fights. He made Canelo fight @152 lbs but now is willing to fight at MW?
