Mayweather vs Cotto is a terrible mismatch.

Mayweather vs. Gatti all over again? I guess we'll see how much Cotto has left fighting someone as superior as Floyd.

Please support your mismatch statement with proof. I think this is a good matchup! PBF will be fighting at a weight he has no business fighting in. 154 is way too much for him. He won't have the power to take Cotto out. Hell, PBF may not have enough power to stagger Cotto. Cotto we know has some pop at 154. He has his confidence back after avenging his loss to Margo and he can write off his loss to Pacman by saying the weight drained his stamina and reflexes. So from a mental prespective I feel Cotto is in a very good place. PBF is PBF his skills are second to none and is one of the smartest guys fighting today. I think PBF wins but Cotto makes him fight every minute of the fight..... MARK MY WORDS. This fight will better than many people think!

Same idiots shouting mismatch are the one's saying Mayweather was ducking Cotto previously, just like before and after he signed to fight Mosley.

an absolute beast whos biggest wins at 140 were
    1) chop chop corley- who was coming off a loss
    2) henry brussels
    3) arturo gatti- handed gatti his 7th loss

floyd, the pound for pound best that would coulda if he had fought someone at a certain time back whenever.

    YAWN yawn ****ing YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

I didn't mention his resume. I said he was at his absolute peak at that weight. He couldn't get a fight with Hatton back then. At 140, Floyd has blazing hand speed, great combinations, and fought in the pocket. Floyd was at his physical peak.

true, but Cotto has NEVER stood a chance against floyd. Floyd has always been the better fighter at every stage of their careers

I don't see anything in Cottos arsenal that could beat Mayweather, troubling him for a few rounds is the best his fans can hope for im afraid

no but you did mention how he would have annihilated a genuine undefeated champ but instead feasted on the above mentioned.
he would have "annihilated" margarito and mosley back in 06...but we got 9 loss baldomir and the guy 9 loss baldomir beat in judah

If it's at 154lbs it could be interesting.

Edit: Floyd is gonna take Cotto apart because Cotto is lacking defensively, but it will still be interesting.

Arum kept Cotto away from Mayweather. And rightfully do. Mayweather was dominating at 140 and Cotto was barely surviving against Torres.

Margacheato? Uh Mayweather fought Dlh who would've Ko'd the cheater chump.

Cotto was my favorite fighter, but I got really disappointed when he starts running with his tail between his legs when things don't go his way. He has what it takes to beat anyone up to 154, but he doesn't have the mentality. He seems like half as aggressive as he was in his prime. He needs to relax more in the ring, but control more the fight. Like Castillo did with Floyd and Marquez did with Pacquiao who lost because of bad judging Cotto if he wants to be great has to stand his ground.

It's not a mismatch at all unless cotto is really that far gone. If he really shows up he'll give mayweather a tough time.
