Correction, only Martinez and that is because of the size disparity. Pacquiao doesn't have a chance in hell and that should be clear to anyone who saw any of his bouts with Marquez. Pac has trouble with guys with solid fundamentals, good counterpunching acumen, and a good lead right. Floyd has all of those in spades not to mention he is larger, faster, and an even better boxer than Marquez. Pac would be brutally raped if he ever got the nerve to sign the contract and Arum, Roach, and anyone with half a brain is fully aware of this.
Sergio can maybe..just maybe get a lucky shot on Floyd but wouldnt win a decision. Pacquiao? JMM all over again but 10x worse
Come on man. Cotto won a vacant title. Arum didn't even want Floyd to fight Cotto. Cotto didn't even want the fight back then. Watch the Gatti fight and tell me he wanted to fight Floyd. I never said he would annihilate Mosley or Marg. You said it not me. Plus Mosley didn't want the fight anyway. Mosley thought of every excuse in the book to avoid Floyd. Marg def wanted the fight though.
:huh You know Cotto was just 23-0 (or so) when Floyd challenged him at 140? While he was a world champ himself since 1998? Arum was right not put them together at 140. They SHOULD have fought at 147 rather then floyd going into retirement. THAT'S when they fight made the most sense. But floyd challenging a still green cotto at 140 gave many the excuse they needed to excuse the 'ducking'. Putting them together at 140 would have been a terrible mistake. And Mosley had ONE excuse, the tooth thing. Besides, when Floyd 'called out' Mosley, he also called out DLH too remember. Back then, Floyd was still looking to break out into the mainstream. guys in that position cal out anyone and everyone. And it's been said Shane said "no" for DLH to take it. I mean, really, who do you think Floyd would choose to fight, DLH for a HUGE purse and exposure, or the employee (Shane) for little? Call outs mean jack **** BTW. The REAL call should be done in a professional manner, to the fighter and his rep, not in a weak ass interview. That's just for show.
Yeah I know but the other poster was accusing Floyd of ducking Cotto at 140. That is my whole point. Shane said Floyd should fight Marg first then those two can fight. He also said he needed to take a vacation. Merchant was telling him that it would be hard to make the fight if he didn't take this opportunity. The only reason fighters do it is because they want exposure. Look at Robert Guerrero. Fighters that let the public know they want the fight get more respect. I've had people tell me that Floyd is afraid of Amir because he called Floyd out. I don't really care if fighters call out each other as long as their serious about it.
Lance, why dont u just sh4t the f4ck up? Its clear as day you hate floyds guts so why should we all actually believe anything u say when it comes to floyd? Anybody with a damn brain knows floyd called out mosley for a november showdown after oscar announce he wont fight floyd in sept cause of his left shoulder that was bothering him. The tooth thing is a bs excuse by mosley in which you should admit that but noooo u wont huh? And this about mosley said no to mayweather so that oscar can fight first is another bs excuse from u and other ******ed *******s.
In every Cotto fight, he always hurt his opponents.. I don't see Mayweather walking into those punches.. He'll use jabs and stay away from Cotto's left.. Yuri Foreman had success on doing this, too bad he hurt his legs on that fight. So maybe Mayweather would do that better.. But I'll still give Cotto a good chance of beating Floyd.. :smoke
Floyd has great defense(I'm sure you know that). I believe Floyd can press forward without taking alot of punishment. Floyd is the type of fighter that can come forward intelligently. Once Cotto starts to get countered, he will move backwards. Plus Floyd has already said that he is coming forward anyway. I believe Cotto has a chance. Floyd is 35 and we don't know how long he can fight at an elite level. Roy Jones was the same age when he was stopped for the first time.
Cotto will eat several uppercuts...bank on it and at no point in his career would he beat Floyd but of course i would have loved to have seen it at 147 but i like this fight now at 154 also.
