Floyd was forced into that type of fight. He was going in planning to stink up the place as usual but he couldn't do it. Props to him for winning anyway though. It was quite a good fight. Rare for a Mayweather fight.

Floyd wasn't forced to do anything. Cotto was one of the few fights where Mayweather consistently would plant his feet and WAR with Cotto.
That's the result of Mayweather having little respect for Cotto's abilities.

Mayweather didn't err in fighting that way, round 12 Cotto was ready to go!
