"Montreal" Duran would stop Mayweather late in a difficult fight. I acknowledge Maywaether's greatness, but don't see him having as many asnwers against Duran as Leonard did in Montreal. Duran > defensively than Mosley, Duran > footspeed than Mosley, Duran > much more committed and determined to fight his plan than Mosley. Duran would succeed in getting this in the trenches.

It was bound to happen

Nothing changes for me...Duran at his best is a better fighter then May and I actually feel his style doesnt suit Floyd more then Floyd's doesnt suit Roberto.

Up there with his hardest fights nonetheless...He would have to be fully focused and fully fit to get through this one convincingly.

Duran is not Mosley. He would see most of Mayweather's shots coming and crowbar his way inside where he is thoroughly the boss, swarming all over him for a wide points win, most likely. Over 15, a stoppage is possible.

I think Mayweather might actually have a better chance at 135/140 (which is still next to no chance); Duran carries 147 better IMO.

Mayweather wouldn't fight the same way Leonard did in his first encounter with Lennord's little regard for defense and an angry brawling mindset. Duran would be beat to the punch, hit very clean, he'd be made to miss and be countered. He'd also be fighting perhaps the best technical inside fighter hes faced to even when he gets to close range.

Many will say 'Montrael Duran' was near invincable. I've come to the that Montael Duran was so good that night because his target was easy to hit. When the target wasn't easy to hit.

Duran was 29 for the Leonard rematch, 31 for the Benitez loss, 31 for the Laing loss,. Now did Duran really lose 40% of his ability in this 6month/2year gap? Ofcourse not, he simply has a weakness to fast boxers with good defenses, which is fine if you can get 1 of them of them to brawl with you because you insulted their wife.

The pyschological factor would be big in this fight. Whoever throws their opponent off their best gameplan. 24/7 would be far more interesting than ever. But I think both many would likely fight to their strengths

I used to think Duran won this, but after seeing Duran lose to the top operators who employed great defense, skill and speed against him I have to pick Mayweather to be a very bad match up for him.

Duran is great and would cause Mayweather some problems but I see Mayweather adjustments, boxing ability, speed and defense being the difference in winning an 8-4 type decision

    Mayweather UD

That's bull**** and you know it. Leonard didn't brawl with Duran: he was forced into exchanges because Duran slipped his punches and got inside. Mayweather is a) slower than Leonard and b) has worse footwork than Leonard. If Leonard couldn't keep away, how will Mayweather?

Like Leonard hit him clean? He couldn't even land his jab.

What offensive artillery does Mayweather have that could top that?

Even if you're right, that works both ways.

Prime Sugar Ray Leonard was easy to hit? Now I've heard it all.

No doubt it's not a nice style for him. But do you really think that the Duran that fought Leonard would have lost to Kirkland Laing?

You love your boy a little bit too much, I think.

Mayweather would outpoint him. Duran was great but Mayweather is greater.

Looking at this film between Duran-Leonard reinforces my opinion they were truly gtreat fighters, and they both would have most certainly licked mayweather...And Duran was a smaller version of the Jack Dempsey of Willard and before...Vicious and irrepressible, were they...
Another observation--The Ray Robinson in his welterweight prime, who I saw MSG,would have whipped all three...Of that I am convinced...We will never see Robinson's likes again.....

I always considered Duran a small Jack Dempsey, a bit more fluid but mean and not lacking in Killer instinct

Leonard and Duran at welter would beat FLoyd

My apologies to all. I intended to vote Duran by TKO but my hand slipped on the mouse and I chose the option below.

I never saw anything last night that would change my mind as to who would win between Duran and Mayweather, and it's Duran all the way. The secord round provided a taste of what would happen, but it would ongoing and relentless.

He beats a well past-it, 38 year old Shane Mosley and suddenly he beats Duran? Floyd gets stopped.

Duran would murder the ****er:deal Mayweather is absolutly tailor-made for Duran & after watching the Mosley fight i'am now more than convinced that Duran wipes Mayweather out no latter than 6. Mayweathers just to slow & wipe open to someone like Duran who'll be slipping & feinting from all angles & just does a brutal number on Mayweather with ease!!!

Never mind all this pot shot bull**** as Duran will be glued to Mayweathers chest & with the ease that Mosley feinted his way inside in that 2nd round & buckled Floyd's legs then the "High Priest of Violence" would have wrecked Mayweather just as Pacquiao will crush Floyd in 3 rounds also:deal

Mayweather just can't cope with anyone that gives him angles & feints hence his careful choice of opponant:deal
