Boy Forrest looks like a regular Sugar Ray Robinson in there. Look at that speed and defense. :rofl

Btw, Quartey is is 5'7 with a 71 inch reach. Floyd is 5'8 72 inch reach. Obviously as you can see Quartey was overwhelmed by Forrests size. :patsch

    Comparing Ike Quartey to Floyd?

Good comparison if you started watching boxing yesterday, considering Floyd doesn't use a Winky Wright style guard, (actually I think Winky got his style from Quartey), nor does he come straight foward attempting to press the fight.

Nor did you mention that Forrest put on possibly the worst performance of his career considering he was just coming off a shoulder injury and everyone had put him in the dumpster saying that he was done.

But yeah, good comparison. Forget about stylistic implications and all other factors, and just look at the size of the opposition.

Wow, I'm hoping you're studying some form of science because I think we got the next Isacc Newton on our hands. I heard he was gay too.

Keep on using if then fallacys because all fighters fight the same. I forgot that.

This is where your lack of knowledge of Floyds career comes into play. Floyd fought with a high guard coming forward against both Zab Judah and Demarcus Corley. This is what we mean by being versatile, Floyd can fight with a high guard coming forward, he can fight southpaw, he can fight orthodox, he can counterpunch, he can pot shot, he can throw combinations, he has an excellent defense and an excellent precise offense, he can fight on the inside and outside. I dont think he'd have to walk down Forrest, he could just pot shot him then grab him so Forrest cant respond, he's far to slow to do anything about it.

The Forrest who fought Quartey and Forrest were typical of an old fighter who cant pull the trigger when he has to. His punches are less accurate, not as fast, and his defense is leaky. He had a Sergio Mora drop his guard and clown him and he couldnt hit him. And you honestly believe he could beat Floyd. Boy what are you smoking?

Those are two southpaws that you named, and of course Floyd needed to keep his guard up because that's the way you deal with southpaws, and that's the way you deal with SPEED.

Even Floyd has to adjust to something like that.

If you want to use Forrests fights against Mora, a former middleweight, and Quartey, then I can say the same of Floyd.

Where were the combinations you speak of against De La Hoya, Baldomir, and Hatton? I didn't see them. Even when De La Hoya was obviously winded and Roger Mayweather told him to let his hands go, Floyd was reluctant to turn it on, yet a former featherweight just beat the living **** out of De La Hoya.

So this means to me that perhaps Floyd is reluctant to let his hands go and take risks against larger opponents or perhaps the weight caught up with him, (doubtful), and he's just unable to throw the combinations we've seen him throw in lower weight divisions.

And counterpunching would not be the best approach to this fight when your opponent is a counterpuncher with speed and a more than noticable size difference. Mora could get away with it in the first fight against an underprepared Forrest and win a decision by a hair because he could utlize his 6 foot frame to fight where it would negate Forrest's size advantage.

Floyd does not have this advantage, would be fighting at 154, and it would be INCREDIBLY difficult for him to counterpunch a guy who's already standing at a lean, and has his hand in position to block.

So, if you're assuming that Floyd will use his high guard, take some risks, and bring the fight to Forrest, then you have a point. ****, he doesn't even necessarily need a "high" guard, just hands up, head movement, angles, and a jab could beat Forrest as long as Floyd throws combinations and gains Forrest respect.

You see, it works both ways. You can't just assume that Floyd is going to go in the fight blazing when he hasn't shown that in his recent fights. Same way you can't assume that Forrest will come in to the fight looking like he did against Mora the second time.

For someone who claims to hate PBF. Why do you make at least 2 threads a day about him? I'm thinking you're an alias possibly Carlito or someone like that who claimed to hate PBF but had the same MO.:think

I don't hate PBF. I just don't think he's invulnerable. I'm trying to test out the knowledge of his fanatics.

Sergio Mora is a C level fighter at best. He'd lose to any of the Welterweights today. Quartey had only fought 3 fights since 2000. Both looked like they were A level fighters in there picking off Forrest at will. And you dont think Floyd would be able to do the same? Seriously? You actually think Forrest could beat Floyd to the punch? Incredible.

I never said Floyd had to throw combinations to beat Forrest did I? Pot shotting him would be enough. Forrest wouldnt be fast or disciplined enough to hit Floyd, and he doesnt have the rapid fire jab like Oscar has to back Floyd up. Obviously Floyd didnt need to throw combinations against De La hoya or Baldomir but if you saw the 6 round on in the Hatton fight, he let his hands go and got Hatton out of there.
Speed? What speed? You see speed in the Mora fight or the Quartey fight? Because I dont. I see average speed, not near what he had against Mosley and a fighter that cant throw when he has to. Floyd is far faster, I never said Floyd would have to counter punch, he could easily, he could just hang on the outside and catch Forrest coming in with lead rights, a left jab to the body, right over the top, as he did with Oscar.

How is dropping your hands, sticking your chin out and daring someone to hit yu negating their size advantage? Did Quartey struggle with Forrest size? I dont think so.

It would help if you had some knowledge yourself. Forrest stopping Floyd? :rofl "Oh **** Floyd, slow ass right hook coming at you, he cant get out of the way, Floyd goes down, Floyd goes down."

    Yeah right.

You really have no idea what you're talking about do you.

I'm just going to let it slide because due to your posts, I picture you as some kid that things he's some kind of a badass because of his Floyd immitation that he does in front of the bathroom mirror everyday before he brushes his teeth.

But reality is like this. If you move up in weight, and you're already not throwing combinations, you might not have the same speed as you did at 130.

    And potshotting?

Man, you really are at a loss with this one. This shows that you probably have no ring experience, which is fine, but don't be calling posters idiots when you don't have any idea how to put in practice what you deem as common sense.

    It's not.

For your homework, I would like you to get in the ring, and counterpunch against a guy who's a natural counterpuncer with a considerable size advantage, and has fast hands.

Tell me how easily you can pot shot him. Now when you find out that your legs are dying, and you're having no success whatsoever do to his height, lean, stance, and reach, then you can come back to me and say that you're sorry.

But.......now since it was painfully obvious that you don't know what you're talking about, which is something I should have known when you mentioned that Floyd "adapted" to southpaw fighters by putting his hands up, I think we should just end this right here before you hurt yourself.

Says the **** that thinks Forrest would KO Floyd Mayweather. Says the guy that says that even though C level Mora and a washed up Quartey were able to pot shot Forrest from the outside, Floyd cant.

    Sorry kid, your gahbage.
