If that was the case then you would just make a PBF quiz, right? All you do is make 2 PBF hate threads a day.
We aren't talking about if he's gonna take risks...were talking about a fantasy match up with Floyd fighting Forrest...You say that Mosley could beat him but Floyd couldn't..Mosley tried x2 and got beat x2...Floyd is faster than Vernon and though hed be at a physical disadvantage I still feel he has more skills than Vernon...And yes he could counter punch...Have you ever boxed? Just cuz someone is taller and bigger than you don't mean you can't counter punch...Floyd was a great counter puncher at every weight!
At this point and time, this fight would be an embarrassment. Vernon would most likely lose 10-2. The only rounds he has a chance of winning are the first 5, and of course he's not gonna win all 5. His stamina is bad, his legs seem to be gone. Floyd sweepd rounds 6-12, guaranteed. If we're talking prime for prime @ 154, then I'll go with Forrest.
As good as his jab and straight right were, I highly doubt you will beat Floyd Mayweather with such an orthodox fighting style.
Not just because of his jab. When Forrest was orime at 154, PBF was only at 130. It would be very hard for PBF to move up and beat Forrest.
Ha ha ha. Ya'll kill me. And to think that ya'll are gonna go off a guy "danny rand" that has no CLUE what he's talking about. Let's put this in a historical perspective. Shall we? When Leonard met Mayweather's daddy in the ring, Mayweather's daddy hoped to win the fight against a guy who was a natural counterpuncher and had a size advantage by counterpunching, and suffered a horrendous beatdown because of it. Leonard came against a similar scenario when he met Hearns that Mayweather would be in if he met Forrest. Yes, while Forrest is no Hearns, Mayweather is no Leonard, but there are similiarties. For one, Hearns had the size advantage, fought out of a counterpunching style even when aggressive, and was the slightly slower man. Did Leonard simply choose to lay on the ropes and counterpunch his way to victory? No because there was a size difference in which Leonard would suffer a reach disparity when attempting to counterpunch and would often find himself at the end of Hearn's punches. So Leonard adapted, and brought the fight TO HEARNS, leading with a jab, moving his head, and throwing combinations. And while he switched between the two styles of counterpunching and making the fight as he was an incredibly versatile fighter, if he DID not take the risks he did, he would have been destroyed. Keep in mind that this was Leonard's best weight and he was at peak athletic ability, explosiveness, speed, etc, yet he chose to fight Hearns the way he did because it was the only way he could conceivably win. Now, Floyd, out of his best weightclass at 154, is going to have the explosiveness to counterpunch Forrest, (not a reckless fighter at all), by fighting off the back foot and make up all that reach without getting hit and landing perfectly? And you bring up Mora, who is easily 6 feet? Man, think about it. It's so basic I feel like an idiot describing it, but I will because a lot of ya'll are somewhat ignorant when it comes to boxing. If you got two guys who are approximately the same size, (Mora had a size advantage), and maybe one is a bit slower, (Mora), you can get away with fighting cautiously and counterpunching your way to victory even with a disciplined boxer counterpuncher like Forrest. All Forrest has to do is be off his game for a night, (Castillo Mayweather anybody?), and he was, so Mora won by a hair. The next fight, the story was different. The fact is though is that Floyd will be giving up TOO much size for him to get away with fighting a counterpunching style against a guy who is a natural counterpuncher with considerable skill. Do you think they just say a good big man beats a good little man because some dumb mother ****er just made that **** up? I mean, **** use ya'lls ****in heads and not for suckin eachother's dicks and think about what you write before you put it on paper. ****......
Orthodox is Marquez. Forrest fights a slickster type style, kinda like Mayweather. And by the way, when Mosley fought forrest he tried counterpunching, and got his ass handed back for it, and this was when Mosley was considered UNBEATABLE. Remember, this fight was a BIG UPSET when Forrest won!
Yeah no ****. Then Forrest got plastered around the ring by Mayorga. TWICE. Mosley was never as good a counterpuncher as Mayweather. NEVER. He's an in and out aggressor. Completely different.
Yeah, but you can't hope to compare Mayweather's style at all to Mayorga who is a complete bully in the ring. And this is Mosley at the peak of his career. This is Mosley that was untouchable, and he tried to counterpunch his way to victory against Forrest and was defeated because of it. I'm not saying it would have been different if he would have aggressively attacked Forrest, but it certainly would have been closer.
Why even start a thread like this ... Floyd would blow Forrest out ... Forrest is washed up and hasn't beat anyone since Shane Mosley ... he would never be able to escape that KO loss to Mayorga --
Please just tell me how. I mean.....ya'll are convinced Floyd could just play it safe by counterpunching, but I find that incredibly hard to believe. Incredibly. Read two posts up or so when I gave a historical instance of when something like that occured.
I don't give a **** axe man ... i'm just saying this ... Forrest isn't marketable ... he's not going to produce anything but alot of bitching ... his stock hit the floor once he lost to Mora ... He will never be able to fight Floyd ... unless he was put in the position as a tune ... but even then he would price himself out.
