Not surprising, especially after being given the title of FOTY for this year. Just another one of their sly methods to make the fight intriguing and justifiable.

I can't believe this guy actually ended up getting the shot.

This is a poor fight imo, Guerrero has nothing to trouble Mayweather with if he's not completely shot. I hope Mayweather fights Canelo after this, the only upside being it gives him more time to improve...

    :zzz

It's a shame that Floyd's career has petered out.... what a steaming pile of **** this fight is.

Guerrero hasn't beaten a single genuinely world class fighter in his life.

Mayweather will handle him with relative ease.

He tries to maul Floyd he's in for a beatdown. Guerrero makes too many mistakes. He's actually a very good fighter in the sense that he's sound in pretty much all areas, but just not good enough to beat Mayweather and he gets hit too clean.

He's better on the edge of range then coming inside, imo. Berto just didn't have the boxing acumen to take advantage of Guerrero falling in for example. Berto's stamina is also weak and he's very poor in the pocket. Not the case with Floyd, so Guerrero better come with a different plan.

I think Floyd will try to walk him down with a high guard.

Floyd must really think after the layoff and jail time that he will need a tuneup before facing Canelo, or whoever opponent he wants to fight next. Not going to buy it but I'll watch for free to see Mayweather put on a boxing 101 clinic. There's no denying though this is an absolutely Atrocious fight, and its simply a name on his legacy. Not even a great name at that.....

Yep. That's what it is. And tbf there's not much out there at the moment. They must think Alvarez is not ready yet.

Will floyd ever take a fight that he 100% knows he cant lose?

    Guerero tailor made.

Alverez may cause me some problems.

    So lets go with guerero.

He's hardly ever taken any fights that he didn't know beforehand that he was going to win.

Sorry to sound like a broken record, but that's the truth of the matter.

He's never really put himself in the firing line - he's never given the fans the fights that they wanted.

The fans wanted Margarito, Cotto, Pacquiao.... he stuttered like a cold turkey alcoholic when asked if he'd fight Margarito, he retired to avoid Cotto and made up excuses galore to avoid Pacquiao.

    All in their primes.

Not saying this era could have been as good as the 80's by a long shot, but where was his ''Leonard/Hearns'' or ''Hagler/Hearns'', where?

Barrera, Morales, Marquez & Pac all fought each other (JMM & Erik aside) - multiple times, there's three or four of those fights that would be right up there in any historian's list of great fights.

The best fight Floyd has ever been involved in.... probably the pair against Castillo, or Hatton perhaps. Nowhere near THAT kinda level in terms of quality or intrigue.
