What would Mayweather's PPV numbers in England in Britain if he fought Witter or Rees? Hatton was the reason their was such a high buy rate. Most people din't know Mayweather, they just knew his marketing description.
Nar , it is Hatton that was the draw , i dont like Hatton 1 bit , but Floyd did struggle for super-stardom a lot in his career earlier on . I dont mean to take anything away from his achievements , Floyd is great . But he was never the one that attracted the huge numbers . He may do now , but that's because whenever he fights , they can promote it as the undisputed fighter in the world p4p. They couldnt do that a few years ago before B-hop and Jones got beat. DLH was the draw , and then Hatton was after that
The PPV in England was also significantly cheaper. Not to mention, Brits are more supportive in general of Boxing. That is more of a reflection on the fans than on Mayweather not being a draw. He obviously is to some extent.
even the all-time ppv king in oscar needs a reasonably big name (per boxing standards) to do really good ppv #s.
