Mayweather vs Hatton, something I notice the second time watching it.

I noticed Roger Mayweather say to Floyd after that round(8th) that Hatton wasnt going to make it much pass 9 or 10 based on that round. He saw him weakining too much I guess.

He was walking into that left hook all night, mostly.

I also noticed that Joe Cortez actually did a GREAT job reffing that fight.

He told the fighters to fight out of clinches and told fighters to let the other fighter go when holding too much.

Every time he stepped in to physically break them up , every single time
NEITHER fighter was in position to punch effectively.

Most times Hatton had Mayweather in a headlock when he broke them up. Or they would rush into each other and literally wrapped arms around each other.

No effective in-fighting would be possible in most of these cases.

some other things I 'd like to add:

Harold Lederman is drunk
Mechant is senile and drunk and he is prompted to ask his question in his ear piece, being told what to ask. He cant even do his job(pitiful) on his own. He needs assistance.

He may also need "depends adult diapers."

 

Agree totally..........after seeing it again my thoughts were confirmed. Everyone knows that styles make fights and when one fighter can't use his style it ain't gonna happen. Mayweather knew he had to wear out Hatton, that was the game plan all along and Cortez helped him work the plan to perfection. Had Hatton's trainer not urged him to go for broke right before the 10th round we would have seen a decision fight instead of the KO.......that's my take.
