it was very entertaining to watch Floyd allowed Jesus to throw around 110 punches a round, and Jesus still got stopped
PBF played around with Chavez in that fight. I mean he couldn't miss and hit him with so many clean counters I thought he might seriously injure Chavez. One of my favorite PBF fights.
That's what happens when you come at Floyd reckless and think you can just overwhelm him with punches
I was bored watching this fight. Floyd covered up and let the little man punch himself out and Floyd decked him left and right. I really wish we could've seen Mayweather-Freitas and Mayweather-Casamayor. I'd pick Floyd in both, but he would've shown so much more. Travesty.
That fight was entertaining. Floyd did get hit a lot in that fight. I think he even got cut as well. None the less the dude is tougher then most believe him to be.
I don't remember him being cut. I think he was cut earlier in his career by another Jesus Chavez, on a clash of heads.
this is the first fight where anyone had some success vs floyd. chavez setup the blueprint for the bigger castillo to have some success in his two fights with floyd. chavez fought his heart out that night. jesus was a world class fighter at that time. good win for floyd.
I remember someone said that Chavez quietly took a terrible beating. I think that's a fair way to describe it. It wasn't one of those obvious one-sided beatdowns lik Brown-Vaca or Jones-Hall, as Chavez was being reasonably competitive. He was pressing forward, extremely active, did some decent bodywork, along with some decent head punches too. But he was taking so many clean punches. He was a sucker for the uppercut, and his head was snapping up frequently towards the end.
there's two Jesus Chavezes that Floyd fought in his career a southpaw journeyman one before Floyd even won a belt then the better one when Floyd was the 130 King
Old old fight. Jesus Chavez was from Parral Chihuahua. Same place my dad grew up. He used to beat up Chavez growing up.
