Mayweather vs Lara Rumours

    Apparently there's alot of rumours about this fight, how epic would this be, I couldn't criticize mayweather anymore if he took this fight, although Lara is not the best Cuban he has enough skill to beat Mayweather at 154

    Khan has confirmed the fight won't happen and Maidanas team have said theres been no contact at all
    What have you guys heard???

    Not going to happen. I'm starting to doubt Mayweather will fight anyone in May.

    Doubt it. Noone knows who the **** Lara is. Floyd probably doesn't know him if he barely knew who Shane Mosley was in 2009.

    Lara is still an undercard fighter on Showtime. He was on Maidana's undercard. I can't see Mayweather fighting an undercard fighter, particularly at JMW.

    If I were floyd I would fight whoever is available at 147...he's gonna get accused of cherry picking and criticized for whoever anyway...**** it get money

    Id love for Mayweather vs Lara to happen but makes no sense for Floyd to make it

    Hes not a world champion and it wont sell

    Thurman or Porter would sell better because they are american and at least ones a world champ

    He's a legit southpaw. He'll never fight him. And dont let me hear this he fought Guerrero nonsense.

    Guerrero is a B- level fighter.

    The fights a little more than 2 months away, the promotion would be jeopardized at this point, in particular because both Khan and Madaina would need a lot of hype.

    Maybe GB has Khan-Madaina or another two fighters fight one another instead then use that opponent for Mayweather in September.

    Floyd announced Guerrero about exactly a year ago, of course hes gonna fight he loves that paper too much. Aint gonna be Lara tho thats for sure.

    Keith Thurman LMFAO hes a terrible boxer! he'll get beat handily once he fights anyone decent

    The lara fight makes way way more sense hes mandatory for WBA at 154, just like guerro at 147

    This, for me anyway would be a dream fight. Lara tends to fight to the level of his competition so this has potential to be an amazing fight. I don't see it being a harder sell than Maidana.
    Lara destroyed a guy that Canelo eeked by. Same blueprint that was in place for Ortiz and Guerrero.
