Iole: 'A source who has been generally reliable on such numbers confirmed that Mayweather's rematch with Marcos Maidana on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden sold 925,000 pay-per-views.'

Zero proof, no name of the source, NOTHING. Is this supposed to professional credible journalism? This is a joke.

Its not a disappointment because that was a rematch with F_cking Maidana, I dont think any intelligent fan would call it a Million PPV seller....anything over 900K is damn good!!

    2 things:

    1. 900k isnt accurate, it's too early to tell. someone could be lying leaking a supposed figure this early.

    2. there 2 expectations, a, fans; and b, business expectations. fan;s expecatations maybe lower doesnt mean the business does too.

choketime needs to break even, which by most calculations, boils down to around 1.5m buys. by all indications, ppv buys aint even close to a million let alone 1.5.

another disastrous showing by choketime, unless 32m isnt a fixed purse.

for those not capable of "reading between the lines" or the ulterior motive. the reason Floyd is so adamant about PPV numbers is because he wants to have that "i bring so much PPV revenue so I am the A side" should a Pac/May fight materialize. But you know, May is worried about his health. He can just sign up for Obamacare

Lol the numbers are better than expected so now it's too early to know if they are accurate. If the numbers were around 600K people would be running with it.

    still no.

it's been 3-4 days since the fight. when ws the last time figures are released 5 days after the fight?

normally, it;'s a week before numbers begin to surface.

id rather wait next week and see what others have.

I amazed anyone gives a **** whether the numbers are good or bad.

I'm really not sure what's worse - his lame fans quoting them when they're 'good' as some sort of achievement or his lame detractors using them as another stick to beat him with.

It's the same when people talk about net worth of fighters. Why the f*ck are you so happy some stranger is getting huge sums of money?

Not very many people thought it'd be that high, there's even a poll I think went around 800k average.

Same here, I actually expected lower though. I thought it'd be around 750k.

Pure and utter nonsense. There is no way they accurately project numbers after only 5 days.Typical spin by Espinoza who leaks bull s hit to a reporter who will not identify his source.

They fudge Mayweather's drug tests why not his PPV buys. This guy must be the most fortunate human being who ever lived on this planet. I cannot help but wonder who he will blame when it is all gone one day.

*****s are just as ******ed as anyone else caring about numbers. In all reality PPV numbers should mean nothing to a boxing fan. As far as Showtime goes...i have no idea what there expectations were for the fight. Have they come out and said what their expectations were and what constitutes a successful PPV for them? Im no expert, but i'd take a guess ands say just short of a million PPV's brings more revenue to them than just a regular Saturday's nightssubscription. Like i said though, im no expert on it and just give a **** enough to even find out. I stopped paying to see Floyd after the Baldomir fight.

again people there 2 expectations: that of the fans and that of choketime.

decent showing if true from fans perspective.

    meanwhile, choketime lost again.
