Fans are going around how Maidana Deserves a fight with mayweather is the dumbest thing I have heard in a while now.

So what you are telling me is that Its ok for mayweather to fight Maidana just because Maidana deserves, and forget about the fact that Maidana has no chance against actually winning the fight, Maidana got school by Kotelnik, Alexander, Khan and even Morales. He has no chance at all.

So you fans just want to see Maidana get a nice paycheck because he "Deserves" it and forget about the fact that this fight is not going to be competitive at all. , and he is not chance to winning the fight.

So fighting mayweather now isn't even about trying to win the fight, its about you deserved the fight so you should get paid well

All this "is it Maidana, is it Kahn?" bull**** game from FLoyd is giving this fight plenty of attention but in the end the consensus seems to be that neither Maidana nor Kahn should be Floyd's next opponents. The public perception is that neither of these two guys will beat Floyd and that will be the ultimate deciding factor when shelling out for the PPV .

It will do Ghost numbers, below 1 mill.

Surely the WBC and Ring Magazine champ, really also should have been the IBF champ. Is atleast top 2 in the division with only the WBO and WBA being held by other fighters.

Margarito is a better fighter and would have been a better fight, but Baldomir was arguably the number 1 in the division. ( Atleast going by Ring Magazine rankings.)

    Robert Guerrero did 870K.

I think Maidana is safe to do that much.

How is it an embarrassment? Among Welterweights, only Bradley and Pacquiao "deserve" the fight more. Maidana is literally next up (when you factor in the Floyd/JMM '09 fight).

So, the 3rd best WW option to fight, and the single best when you choose to not be naive and recognize the GB/TR war, is a bad fight to make?

You probably list Kryzstof Wlod. as a fighter that Floyd has "ducked."

May could have both Broner & Mares comebacks on the undercard?
    (That's the rumor)

& throw in a TMT promoted fighter in the mix.

You never know how much of a chance these guys have until they get into the ring. All you can go off of credentials. Many people thought Canelo had a shot and he lost decisively. A lot of people thought the Corrales fight would be a toss up and he got demolished. Castillo wasn't given much of a chance and many people think he beat Mayweather. Maidana isn't some bum off the street. He's a top 10 WW and a world champion. Maybe Maidana gets his ass handed to him, maybe he makes a fight out of it. He's a worthy opponent though.

Honestly the floyd brainwashing on here is just sad....why the **** should it matter to anyone what the ppv numbers are ??? The only person interested in this figure would be floyd and his ever expanding bank account......why would that be of any interest to any boxing fan.

What a sad world we live in when fans argue about who does more ppv ...aren't we really missing the point ?

This is going to do about 1 MIl 1.2 Mil max there is not really a interesting fight out there for Floyd on the goldenboy roster

Garcia - He would get outclassed pretty bad he almost does nothing better than Floyd and he is not a huge enough draw
Khan - Has some drawing power but he did not look good his past 2 fights and before that back to back losses
Maidana - Sure he beat Broner but against Floyd he is going to be a punching bag
Lara - would give Floyd probably his toughest fight at the moment maybe even more than Pacquia & Bradley but the fight would be a chess match (I wouldnt mind but alot of fans would) and Lara has next to no draw

And the two fighters that would make a interesting fight against Floyd are with Top Rank (Bradley & Pacquiao) the only fighter that would top Canelo and possibly DLH in ppv buys is Pacquiao

Some of you predicting 1 mill plus are idiots.

WHO IS GOING TO BUY THE FIGHT?

What community is going to get behind Maidana? There is no Argentine community in America who will come out for Maidana and buy the PPV's.

I doubt hardcore boxing fans will buy it as they know it's another mis-match especially following on from the near shutout versus Canelo.

A few casuals may buy it due to Maidana beating Broner but Maidana doesn't speak a lick of english so how will he promote himself to them? Even in Spanish the dude comes across as boring and monotone.

Only an amazing undercard can stop this being Mayweathers lowest selling PPV since the Oscar Fight.

    My Prediction

With a good undercard it will sell 700-750 PPV's.

With a great undercard it will sell 850-900K PPV's.
