Mayweather was just about a Welterweight at that point. He moved up to 154lbs for the mega bout with DLH and looked very sluggish. "Retired". Then came back at 147lbs. Who can blame him for not staying at his 5th weight class for too long?

The same way Pacquiao isn't defending his Light Middleweight belt.

my point is, floyd will be seen much higher now by boxing fans if he indeed had beaten cotto back in 2008 rather than boxing fans having the opinion that he would beat cotto because of his skill set. if he did fought him and beat him back then, cotto would easily be the greatest floyd victory, more than castillo or even corrales.

Floyd was the top guy p4p then and def the bigger draw of the two he didnt have to go seeking fights....so no he didnt have to chase Cotto...it should have been Cotto trying to make the fight....like whats going on now with Pac or like what was going on with Margo...like what went on with Mosley...offers were actually made for these fighters...NAME A TIME where Cotto or Arum ever offered anything or even pursued the fight? Dont blame Floyd for that shyt.

We all should know the shyt between Margo and Floyd by now however at least offers where put together....or an actual attempt was made....again i dont think you can blame either parties but you sure seem to like to place every fight that doesnt happen on Floyd's shoulders.

 

I agree that floyd could have beaten margo and cotto but the problem is the fight did not happen. As a boxing fan, you got to believe that floyd has the ability to beat anyone at 147 but where is he now?
