What the hell made Margarito a better opportunity than Baldomir. You can talk all the snit you want but at that time Baldomir the linear WW champ and Mayweather got 8million, so why exactly was he supposed to fight Margarito instead??? I could see if he fought Baldo for less money but he didn't.

Margarioit means **** and he will never be remebered as anything more than a cheater who got KOed by the Mosley that Mayweather schooled, and then got his cheating ass face broke by Pac. Thats what he gets for blocking punches with his face.

There are only three facts here that matter going forward.

One, Floyd will deservedly be remembered as the far greater fighter.

    Two, Margarito's name isn't on Floyd's resume.

And three, in 2006, Margarito would have tested Floyd in ways that no true welterweight got the chance to until 2010.

As for the rest of it, all I can say is that I doubt my kids and your kids would rather hear a ten minute discussion of promotional issues from twenty-five years ago than watch an old fight. Nobody is going to give a damn about all of that. Sh*t, I don't give a damn now. The fight didn't happen, and it would have been a good one.

Yeah it would have been a good fight if you like trying to see a turtle catch a cobra. Floyd would have hit Margo at will and never gotten touched. Fans would have been yawning. I don't care how good Margo's chin was, he's too slow and he would have blocked punches with his face all night in route to losing 120-108.

agreed. You judge a man's legacy on the fights that did happen. The ones that didn't don't matter.

Pacman will probably KO Mosley in 4 rounds, but the Gayweather fans will say mosley is shot and old now, but when Floyd fought Mosley it was the greatest win ever.

Floyd's joke 147lb lineal title beating Baldomir a bum and never stuck around to defend against Cotto, Paul Williams, Margarito etc.

Margarito-Maywweather fight only has hype around it because it never happened. I can't see how Mayweather would be considered greater by fighting and beating Margarito.

I can see comments like this though. "Margo is C level, Mosley and Pac beat Margo worse then Mayweather did."

Its only hyped up as some type of experiment. Like I wanna see how he beats Margo, and when he does its what he should do because he is more talented so its not like he beat some elite fighter or something. I just want to see it to see it.

The only chance Margarito would have had is with his handwraps and not even then, really.

Margarito is very weak in the body, as shown in the Pacquiao fight. Steward and Cotto will further exploit that weakness later this year.

I do believe cotto had a chance to beat floyd premargo and margarito does have the style to beat floyd but he s not the one to do it. He lacks speed while guys like bradley or williams can outwork floyd like castillo did.

I don't think either of them would have beat PBF. But I do think that Cotto had more to beat Mayweather then Margo.
