 You'll have to forgive these Mayweather fanboys. They hate Margarito something fierce since he and Arum made Floyd look like a chump duckin him. Plus most are stupid kids who just got into the sport.

To say Margarito has no skill just demonstrates their stupidity.

Ok then well you can't be a champion without skills. So Mayweather fought a skilled champion Baldomir who was the lineal champ at the division which was superior to Marg's WBA strap.

 Superior strap. In today's boxing, are you joking? :patsch Fighters make the belts, not the other way around.

Baldomir was the worst WW champ ever. And that an easy win compared to the others.

BTW, Margarito had the WBO belt, not the WBA at the time.

I get your point sensei believe me im trying here...but of what value is baldomir as compared to marg even now and this is not only about marg i mean wouldnt it be bad ass if floyd had all those names in his resume...if he actually beat all those fighter his fans speculate he is able to beat...cmon man is it to much to ask for a fighter to fight...seriously

That was Martinez 17th professional fight. And to say he destroyed him is an overstatement. Margarito has fought at WW for over 10yrs yet his accomplishments at that weight are just okay and are even tainted due to plaster.

Compare that to Mayweather at 130 in only 5yrs is considered one of if not the greatest 130 pder in boxing history. Or Mosley at 135.

What's the point to compare those? You are aware not everyone gets the fights they want. In fact, most boxers are in Margarito's boat then Floyd's.

I understand your overall sentiment. You just wish some of the fights would have happened. I respect that as I too think it would have been entertaining watching Floyd school those guys.

But you can't discount the business aspect of the sport. Boxing is a multimillion dollar business and business plays a huge part in whether or not a lot of fights get made. Plus with Floyd hindsight is always 20/20 with a lot of his haters.

Thats why I say it wouldn't have mattered if he fought Marg or Cotto because people would have made excuses to discredit it. People love to call fighters challenges for Floyd, until he beats their ass and then all of a sudden they were "overweight, cherry picked".

Floyd got called out on national TV for not fighting Baldomir and Hatton, yet once he fights beats them, suddenly they weren't a real challenge.

This board was on fire after Mosley called out Mayweather after the Marquez fight. People were screaming that Mosley was the #1 WW, a real challenge and would knock Floyd's ass out. Then when they reached an agreement, but Floyd delayed signing the contract, again people started screamign that Floyd was about to duck Mosley becasue he was a real challenge. People were even saying that Floyd would make up an injury to pull out of the fight. Then Floyd proceeds to dominate Mosley in clinical fashion and all of a sudden "Mosley was old, shot, chery picked" Everyone knew how old Mosley was going to be whne they were demanding the fight, so why ask for it if then if they were going to use that excuse.

Its the same thing with Marg, and Cotto, the only reason people build them up is because the fights didn't happen, btu if they had, it just would have been more excuses.

Bottom line, there was no reason to duck Marg, or Cotto. Floyd is a superior fighter to them period. He agreed to fight them, but he wanted more money which Arum said no too. He the went on to make mega fights and make way more than what Arum was offering. Its just that simple. It was business and all Arum had to do was be fair with the money and we would have seen the fights.

Why not compare these are these 2 guys favorite weight classes. I would agree with what your saying about not getting the fights he wants. But there was A LOT of comp that went through WW over his reign there its hard for me to believe that everyone was scared of him. Plus he had Arum as his promoter.

He also wasn't willing to face everyone because Williams had to chase him around for a while to get that fight.

And how long ago was that???...I wouldnt call Margo a bum but he is a very predictable fighter IMO...He is slow as hell..The only thing I would basically give him credit for is his heart and thats about it.

Also with the hands wraps scandal...Who's to say he didnt cheat during that bout...Just something to think about...I seriously doubt that Margorito would do that to Martinez now.

No one said everyone was scared of him. Margarito was an unknown and high risk fight. All guys like him can do is beat those who are willing to fight. Arum started the "Most feared man" bit because Mayweather, the best boxing on the planet, and newbie to his weight class, did everything NOT to fight him. So Arum just rolled with it. Just a promoter doing his job.

Margarito faced Williams, so what does that matter? He dropped the better fght w/ Cotto to face Williams who was his mando.

If Jones didn't fight Tarver back in 2004, everybody would be saying Tarver had no chance. He is slow, and limited, etc.
