As much as I hate to give credit to Margacheato, he is def. a dangerous fighter for anyone. He could be losing every round and it just takes one round for him to put the pressure on anyone. Manny did a great job by not showing he was hurt and that was the major key for the victory. Floyd will do the same to Antonio and beat him mentally, but many of us could agree Floyd def. didnt want any of Antonio at one point. Not that he was scared, but knew Margacheato was a very high risk with low reward to his career at that time.

 

yes bob arum definitly isnt interested in doing business with floyd. I think floyd should fight martinez next at 154 then the winner fo khan bradley in 2012 then retire.

 

I think the main reason was him ****ing that right eye up really bad. Round 4 destroyed margarito, he got a lucky punch in at round 6 but thats about it.

Margacheato put the pressure on round six just like he did with Cotto. If Manny would have shown any sign of being hurt and not throwing any shots we will have seen more pressure. Did you see Margacheatos face after the Cotto fight as well? Cotto's face was full of blood, but once wipe it still look bad, but surprinsingly Antonios look as worst with both of his eyes and face swollen up. The difference, Cotto show he was hurt and that let Antonio build momentum and perhaps with some extra help

manny always does that though, If youre his opponent you know he gat atleast a little bit hurt when he throws his hands up like that.
He was only hurt for a few sec and came back with a vicious flury of punches that did great damage. Cotto was screwed because he was unable to get away from margarito like pac and didnt clinch. I really felt sad for him because I wanted him to win, I hope he will be able to redeem himself in the summer.

There was no point in this fight happening. As a matter of fact nobody even gave a **** about Margarito until this whole Mayweather is ducking hims nonsense started. The guy was slow, limited fighter who was entertaining because he blocked punches with his face. In order for something to be a duck, you would have to pass up a better opportunity, for a lesser opportunity for no good reason. That's not the case here. Mayweather fought the lineal the champion of the same division for 8 million, and then went on to fight the richest fight in boxing history. Please someone explain to me how is that a duck? Hell even Arum admitted that Mayweather was cool with the Marg fight.

I'm no fan of Mayweather, but he beats Margo by wide UD. Probably win every round. I would also pick him to beat Cotto too.

 

The only way to beat Margarito is by not letting him build momentum even when he hurts you. There was times that Manny was laying in the ropes just like Cotto. The huge difference Manny was always throwing and still kept coming foward. It happend with Mosley as well, he never allow Margarito build momentum and put the pressure on him as well. That's the factor to beat a bigger guy like him esp with a great chin. Plus we still have questions if Margacheato was arm in the Cotto fight, unlike the Mosley or Manny fight
