And you're blinded by Pac. The guy is flawed and limited as all get out but you refuse to admit he's tailormade for PBF and has built up his reusme by facing past prime fighters:deal
Margarito would have the same look on his face as Baldomir and Mosley had after 4 rounds, he'd start to realize THE TRUTH.
Pac is the opposite of Floyd. A guy who's record does not look as flashy as Floyd's and who's personality is bland and who is not cut from the same cloth (african-american) as most greats from the past. Pac's ability has been met with scepticism time and time again yet he has exceeded expectations time and time again and FORCED the world to respect him. Now he is fighting consistantly at a level most people thought impossible and he is so good that it has become common for people to retionalize his ability by accusing him of being on PEDs despite the fact that several fighters in the past have been on PEDs and still underperformed like Vargas, Toney, Mosley, etc. I am one of the few who was able to look beyond the cover and recognize from the beginning that despite his ethnic background, his early losses, and his style of fighting, Pac was an amazing fighter that didn't get the credit he deserved, and all he has done is prove me right. In fact he has proven to be better than even I thought he was. All those arguments I had with Pac haters where I said "time will tell" well guess what? it did.
Mayweather will rather make money with someone outside of Bob Arums stable, which is reasonable, considering Bob owes him money for the Gatti and Judah fights, and Bob constantly keeps pissong on Floyd in the media whereas the tone was different when Floyd fought under his banner.
And how many real challenges has he ducked at WW? And to the TS, how the **** are you gonna "settle it once and for all"? It's just another hypothetical fight in which the *****s will say Floyd wins easily and boxing fans will break it down and show Floyd actually has a chance of losing. Floyd has nothing that would make Margarito stop from pressuring him. There is a big possibility that Marg could break Floyd down. And that hitting and holding would not work for Floyd as he was a smaller man by the time he ducked him. Again, there's a reason Floyd avoided this guy and Cotto by retiring. It's the same reason he is on vacation now. What a *****.
Agree with you for the most part but shattering predetermined expectations are by no means the only way to judge a fighter. Mayweather exceeded already lofty expecatations when he destroyed fighters he was supposed to lose to 10 years ago. Since then, he has been regarded as essentially unbeatable and lived up to that expectation. 1 or 2 close fights in 41 with many championship fights while going up in weight and fighting top fighters. Pacquiao exceeded the moderate expectations that were in place for him after a slow start to his career and life and death fights against opposition that he should have beaten with ease. Now, he is viewed as unbeatable after showing unprecedented improvement as he has gone up in weight and destroying fighters who are bigger than he is and should beat him based on the predetermined expectations that were in place. Two different paths to the same place and both should be respected.
did u know that ***** asked for advice on how he can sucker punch a guy for grabbing a girl's ass that he's not dating
atsch O lord, if you read the bottom of my first post, you'll see how I addressed the whole Floyd ducking Margo bull. Also Baldomir and Oscar have very good chins and out weight Floyd by more than 13 pounds, but somehow Floyd beat them and shut out Baldomir, so what you said has no merit about him not being able to keep him from pressuring him. Margo can pressure Floyd all night long and still get shut out
The problem in this fight for Floyd are his hands. Just like the Baldomir fight, Floyd would most likely damage one or both of his hands and have to really be on the move.
You're CRAZY!!! Don't EVER compare Margarito to Castillo! Margarito is no where near Castillo, in terms of boxing/fighting skill. Yes, both are relentless and come right at you and throw a lot of punches, BUT Castillo had real skill to add to that. Castillo was a GREAT inside fighter/body puncher. Margarito was JUST a relentless/great-chinned fighter. That's all! Castillo - a GREAT boxer-puncher. GREAT boxer-puncher.:nono
Mayweather may get overrated in some areas. But he also is underrated and gets minimal credit in other areas. So it evens out, but if you are a fan or hater you chose which one you want to pick on. One of the biggest sayings in boxing is styles make fights. So shouldn't the guy who fought the most different styles be the guy who has faced the most comp? Mayweather has fought a lot of different styles in his career. I don't think he gets the credit for that as he should. Mayweather also didn't need to outweigh his opponent by 8-10pds every fight in order to win either like some other fighters. Mayweather should get more credit for the Judah and De La Hoya fights then he does. Stylistically Judah being a southpaw counter puncher, with faster hands and a big KO power over Mayweather makes it a tough match up for Mayweather's style. But people don't look at things like that. Since Judah wasn't undefeated it was an average win. Yet these are the same people who say that 0 don't mean anything when its convenient.
In short Castillo brought educated pressure. Margo deosn't bring educated pressure. He brings plaster and uses his activity with plaster to break an opponents body down.
