Nah. Pac is my favorite fighter, but I seriously think this catchweight stuff is just a ploy by team pac to soften up fighters...Nothing to do with Pac not being able to fight at 147.
Much like Mayweather is getting the advantage making it 147 vs Marquez. Roach tries to get fighters to come down as far as possible to drain them for Pac. Nobody can blame them.
As for Pac fighting at 147. I guarantee the man is a FORCE at 147! Even if De la Hoya was a shell of a man did anybody watch Pac? How quick he was, how well he moved, how he snapped Oscar's head? Oscar has fought HUGE men, and yet...The supposed little Pac was snapping his head back, and not even sitting down on his punches like he did in the Hatton fight...
I think Pac beats PBF at ANY WEIGHT! I also think Pac beats mostly everybody in welterweight division as well. Berto for sure, Cotto probably, he makes Mosley look like De La Hoya. Only person he does not beat is Paul Williams. He cannot hurt him, and don't think there's anyway he outhustles him. From 147 down...The only fight Pac loses currently IMO is PAUL WILLIAMS! Which, it'll never happen...

This is what's killing boxing!!! This fraud mayweather chicken should be fighting legitimate 147 pounders... Which are plenty! Coward!!!!!

Even more. COming up 12 pound from his last two fights. He is 35 years old. Just in March 15,2008 he was fighting at 130lbs. That is a total of 17 pounds in 16 months. He also had to work very hard to win his fight at 135lbs. He is really a 130lbs guy looking for a good payday before retirement. And of course Floyd is there to do the usual cherrypicking.

Exactly . . . and why would Pac give away advantages to the opponents?

If you are a fighter of his stature you will always look for an even grounds to fight smaller or bigger fighters. :deal

I think Mayweather vs. Pacquiao might not happen.
Paul Williams or Shane Mosley might be next.

Manny and Floyd are looking to bring boxing the biggest fight of this era while Pavlik is looking to fight guys like Mora, Rubio and Lockett.

I'd hate to see what excuses you will smell after the fight.

I'm pulling for JMM on this one, no matter how heavy the favorite Floyd is.

Why can't we all agreee that Floyd is cherrypicking here? Jeez.

Cherry picking in that he won't fight just anyone at welter. Only one guy because Roach was certain he had an advantage. I'm not saying that was a bad thing, especially considering the payday for Pac against Oscar. It isn't the same as cherry picking smaller guys though.

Who else will he fight at WW? See previous post.

Will it make you feel better if we call ODLH a 'carefully chosen opponent'?
