Kevin lole has no ties to either party. And he's a well plugged in dude who's been covering boxing for a long time now. I trust him rather then some rep from GBP or TR leaking the numbers, plus he has more reason to down play the numbers seeing as he's a ufc apologist.

Wow unbelievable! its official like a referee with a whistel! Floyd/JMM actually did a million PPVs. In a ****in recession competing with the darkside. Any more excuses ladies? I hope yall realize this is a big deal, only 5 non-heavyweight fights have done a million ppv buys now, significant as it gives Floyd massive leverage over Pacquiao and makes him now a cross over star.

Oscar-Trinidad, Oscar-Mayweather Oscar-Pacquiao, Oscar-Hopkins....this is the only time a non HW fight has done over a million and there was no Oscar involved.

Floyd-Hatton? Did that do a million? Or was it 900k? It's not THAT mind blowing. And a LOT of Mexicans would have paid to see Marquez.

The reality is this, Floyd's new character "MoneyMayweather" has become a villain to the public and he's "The guy you love to hate". Love it or hate it Floyd has become an must see attraction in this sport. He has mastered pissing people off and people will pay their last to see that 0 go!

Mayweather is the biggest draw in the sport. It's not debatable IMHO.

Manny/Floyd could do in the hundreds of thousands in the UK alone if marketed properly.

Worldwide it would break 2 million. It;s simply the biggest sporting event out there right now barring an England/Argentina or Germany world cup final.

Yep. People love his persona. The whole Money Mayweather, Lifestyle flashy. Some love it and some love to hate it BUT ultimately they love it either way and will pay to see it.

The DLH fight made him and those HBO 24/7 shows. Hes thick as **** and extremely childish but hes the biggest ppv seller in boxing....but thats not saying much these days. Fact is theres no draws at heavyweight anymore and only a few in total...pac, cotto, floyd.

Arum and he old school may not like it but the UFC put on a big ppv event each month and outsells boxing over the course of the year.

I supposed different network, different marketing etc

I don't think it did 1.5. I think it was just over a million.

Manny will have to take the slightly lesser purse now.

They should still do a 60/40 to the winner though (fantasy thinking I know)
