I would like it to be at 140 too but don't think Mayweather can make that weight to be honest. The last fight he had at 140 was four years ago and he has been retired for nearly 2 years now in unknown physical condition and all the rumors about hitting the gym mean nothing.

Manny Pacquiao, the man Marquez claims is "ducking" him, had no problems moving up two weight divisions all the way to 147 to take on DLH in a fight he was a huge underdog going in and expected to be iced within 3 rounds. Why doesn't Marquez do something similar if he REALLY wants to make Pacquiao look bad or send him an indirect "challenge"?

    Get a grip lover.

I actually respect Floyd and actually called a Floyd win in 10 over Hatton, i just wished i had put the 30 on that i had intended on doing:patsch

Floyd can make 140 he has a slight frame and he himself says he only walks around at about 155 so its not a big drop in weight.

Let me ask you this, is it fair for Joy to expect a guy whos natural weight is around 130 to jump to a division he has never even fought at?

GBP trying to get Marquez the fight is stupid, they should be trying to get Mosley in that position, especially if Floyd would prefer to fight at 147.

That's a more meaningful fight and allows the winner of Hatton-Pac to fight Marquez, then the winner of that fights Floyd/Shane, much more money involved.

I think Mosley would have the best chance at laying a beating on Floyd too :good

Floyd weighed in at 145 for Ricky Hatton and did not put on much weight after. I think he can easily make it.

Not really over defensive, just trying to point out facts.

I really don't know if Floyd can make 140 or not, I'm just going by how it usually is in boxing. Mayweather's last fight at 140 was four years ago, I just don't see how he can make the weight even after nearly 2 years of retirement in unknown physical condition, he sure as hell won't be walking around retired in "training camp" condition/weight and be expected to make 140 when his last two fights were at 147 and 154 nearly two years ago. If he could make the weight he would have done it against Hatton, I don't see why they had complications in the negotiation process with Hatton regarding weight if he could make it.

Because Mayweather is no ODLH and Marquez need not be handicapped any further.

If he could make 140, why don't they make it at that weight.

Was it fair for DLH to ask Pacquiao to move up too?

This is boxing and this has happened many times. Leonard did it when he fought Hagler and there are FAR too many examples to bring up if you know none about them.

If you really had respect for him you would try to use your brains in this one, if you know nothing about similar situations in the past then we'll be kind enough to educate you.

Don't forget that it was Marquez who claimed he wants to fight Mayweather KNOWING that Mayweather has been at 147 for a while and even had one fight at 154. Now that he got a response he's making a big deal about the weight like he didn't know Mayweather was at 147?

Then he shouldn't have asked for a fight with Mayweather and stuck with "Pac is ducking me" if he knew he would be in a "handicapped" situations.

Regarding the DLH/Pac fight, last I remember Pacquiao was going in as a huge underdog who was expected to be KO'd within 3 rounds. He wasn't really in a different situation at all, only difference is that we know the result now, if we didn't you would be agreeing with my statement and carried on.

Marquez was the one who called out floyd... he should take floyd's terms. He needs this fight more than Floyd do. In fact this is more like just a "tune up" fight for floyd before he fights the winner of pac hatton.

Yes it was unfair for DLH to call out Pac but then again DLH DID come down to a weight he hadnt been at for several years to accomodate the Pacman.

Plus if Joy wants to fight at 147 like Gneus says let him fight actual Welters in Cotto, Williams etc

i dont know why JMM is worried about the weight cause it doesnt really matter if its at 140 or 147 ,he gets beat at either weight.

for JMM this fight is all about money.
