See you dont know **** about boxing.

If PAC fight JMM now,he would pass 1 million without a doubt.

PACQUIAO fought COTTO and have 1.4 million and FLOYD fought JMM and have only 1.0 million

1.4 million is bigger then 1.0

    ya dig?

cotto with his puerto rican fanbase does better than mosley. i don't know why mosley doesn't sell considering he beat oscar twice, but he just can't sell too well. how many times has mosley been on PPV?

Mosley has never had star power and has never been a major draw. Anyone who thinks Shane Mosley has the same amount of drawing power as Miguel Cotto is dumb..

:rofl:rofl:rofl at you guys making it seem like 1.1 million buys is a bad number. That is a pretty damn good number even if it falls short of expectations.

    It's true.

Then again, Richard Schaefer was making the goal 4mil in the press conference. Bring that down to reasonable and realistic math, and it would be the equivalent of me saying "you can expect me to give you $1000", but then I only give you $250. That would be pretty disappointing, no?

1.1 million x 54. Do the math. Schaefer is an idiot to claim four million but the reported ppv numbers are still pretty good that's my point.

I agree with you. I was just making the point that if you say something like "3-4 mil" then you "only" do 1.1 or whatever, that you've fallen short of your goal and it can be considered a "disappointment".

I'd take $54 million any day of the week myself!

latin fighters always do better drawing fans because their fan base is really pasionate about it.. most american fighters other than the Heavys struggle to draw much attention among the public in the states... pacquiao is similar in that he brings or the filipino fan base and all the asian pacific area shuts down everytime he fights

    :hat

Pac Cotto did 1.25 if i recall..unless i have that mixed up with Mayweather's JMM fight.
This really says something I think.Manny probably drew all 700k on his own.Mayweather claimed he raised his numbers with JMM without a dance partner but that virtually ignores all the Mexicans and even the Filipinos who watch Marquez.A lot of the people Manny fights who have a good fan base typically pick up Manny's fans if they liked the fight,Marquez definitely fits that bill.good numbers, but Mayweather-Mosley should have done more than 1.5 if he really wanted to make a statement to Pac about his drawing power. So let's wait for the real numbers.

I knew when I heard that the fight wasn't even sold out at the gate that it would get nowhere close to the ridiculous numbers that were being thrown around. I though 1.5 million was possible, but this number sounds about right. Good news is we can do a simple 50/50 now with a 14-day cutoff, right???

Regardless....those are good numbers. Not as good as I thought but let's wait and see the final numbers. Manny and Floyd are without a doubt the top US draws in the sport. Mayweather may be a little more of a draw given the fact he's an american fighter and Manny is not. I don't think there is much question on who is the top draw world wide, but in terms of the US Floyd has a pretty big following and PAC's is ever growing. Anything over 1 mill is a success! Floyd did good numbers if he is over the 1 million mark that is for sure.

You can't be this stupid? Mosley is no where equal to Cotto.
