Someone here explained to me that SHane was overshadowed by other stars during his younger years (RJJ, Oscar). I like it that finally he gets his chance now. I just fervently hope casual fans tune in and watch this two in action.
Shane had his big break with Oscar and he was pretty much up there with RJJ, actually at the time, he was recognized more as p4p 1 than RJJ. The problem was he loss to Forrest at this peak moment, HE LOST BIG. And then from there went on a unfortunate decline until the Vargas KO. Yea he beat oscar within that low period, but... it was a suspect victory for a couple of different reasons. Shane seemed unstoppable at that time prior to Forrest.
IMO, this is SSM's toughest fight considering the circumstances involved. His age, and I believe this is Shane's longest layoff between fights. I'll be rooting for the old veteran but if I had to bet my money, I'll have to go w/ FMJ on this.
i just think Cotto who is a great boxer but not nearly as potenent as Floyd had far to much success outboxing Mosley in the later rounds and what was really scary is that Mosley never adjusted to negate what Cotto had adjusted to.....at this stage in his caree he will have to fight a perfect fight for Floyd from the beginnig of the bell i dont believe stamina to be a problem but im not sure he will be capable to adjust as fast as floyd can.
If these are your two favorite fighters then you want them to fight. If they put on a great show they enhance each other's resume and standing. At least they are fighting. Better to fight a great and lose then to not fight them.
Oh I want them to fight, was pretty excited when Mayweather actually went through with it -- the stars aligned for this one. The problem is if May loses then they will do him like RJJ, if Shane loses to me he falls short of being legend. That's how I feel.
Defnitely not a hard fight for me... I hate both the *******s, but I hate Mosley a little bit more. GO FLOYD!<<<<<Can't believe I just said that.:-lol:
