Mayweather vs. Mosley: Who R U Picking!!! Worst Title for a Boxing Match?

I was in marketing and advertising for a huge company and I can not believe a sporting event of this magnitude has a title so corny and unoriginal, as if a 6 year old picked it

lol, ya it took me a couple minutes to realize that was actual title also. Talk about degrading the fight

 

I think it was BigReg. He was the first I saw with it a while back. That would have been the perfect name.

 

Call me crazy, but it sounds like there's a lot of people in this thread who just sound angry altogether that Floyd is putting on a mega-event against the fighter that so many said (and prayed) he'd never fight. Sour grapes all over the place.

of course I've heard of Toys R Us, but that's a toy store targeted mostly at kids

and shouldn't relate to a boxing promotional title using improper grammar.

I don't see the relation of Toys R Us .. a toy store with R U Picking part of the phrase for a fight tag line

**at the end of the day in regards to the big picture it really doesn't matter what the tagline for the fight is since I'd think people would want to see the match up. and not to speak for everyone else

but IMO as a fight, Mayweather vs Mosley sells itself

ripping off movie titles again? lol .. Cotto vs Mosley was Fast and Furious .. which was bad enough, considering a movie with that title would come

Dream Fight I thought was pretty bad also.

and I'd prefer to not see a Sharon Stone western title, because in regards to boxing it really doesn't apply and fails in regards to originality (not much of that these days anyway)

that could certainly be true. I know there are some people who claimed Mosley would never get to fight Floyd because of ducking and etc

but this specific thread is regarding the fight tagline, which several people .. me included find bad

particularly because of the misspelled R U oppose to are you which is just juvenile.

I know this was already mentioned but I would have also liked to see something more along the lines

"the fight 25 years in the making" because promotionally it would be so easy for HBO to build up on the history of Mosley + Mayweather

and how this isn't just a random match up between two top fighters

 

The title has turned out to be a success with some of their early marketing, piggy back riding on March Madness with the bracket.

 

I called Golden Boy's office last week to complain and the secretary and I seemed to agree how dumb it was.

 

Old man Shane vs ellerbe's flame.

Senior citizen Shane vs making it counterfeit rain.

Past his prime vs owes the IRS every dime.
