I can't help but feel a little sorry for Ortiz though. He was so relaxed when he took those punches that a KO was inevitable. But I guess that's boxing.
The only thing that annoyed me was the fact the fight was over so quickly. Floyd was looking great could have done with seeing a few more rounds. only 18 more months to go to see him again!!!!
he said if he takes a long layoff again he might not come back. Seems like that long training camp really got to him
Floyd will probably be back by April/May. If he doesn't then it made to sense to take Ortiz's WBC belt.
Wow....That was a LEAPING HEADBUTT!!! Even Timothy Bradley said "WTF?" Ok....After watching this for the 2nd time, this is what I saw. After Ortiz's LEAPING HEADBUTT...Cortez called time, deducted a point, Ortz and FMJ hugged-it-out...then Cortez motioned them to continue with the fight, then looked over to the official time-keeper to start the clock (round timer). It appeared to completely fair and legal. In fact, when the knockdown happened, the "offical time-keeper" began the count at ringside. Legal to Cortez, Legal to the Official Ringside Time-Keeper, Leagal to Floyd and Leagal to almost any fighter that I heard from via interviews, tweet, facebook post....IT'S ONLY BEEN LABELED CHEATING, SUCKER-PUNCH, CHEAP-SHOT OR ILLEGAL BY WHO.... THE HATERS!!!
