I used to think Paul Williams at Welter - I think a tall fighter with a solid jab can really throw Floyd off his counter attacking style, forcing him to come forward and try and get inside the jab. Now Sergio has destroyed Williams and in turn Williams looked shocking last time out I think thats a no go now.

    Maybe Vernon Forrest at 147?

I know he got beat in the Olympic games, but we as boxing fans know the truth. Dare I say it Floyd is unbeatable at Olympic Rules!

Williams doesn't have a solid jab though.

But he was THAT tall at 147 that it wouldnt need to be that solid of a jab, my point is that it would be hard to counter someone who doesn't need to get in Floyds strike range, if they only have a slight reach advantage then a solid jab would be needed but with Paul having such a reach advantage he wouldn't need the best jab in the world as any mistakes he could probably get away with. Also if he had Adam Booth in his corner then he could beat the Klitchkos:D

I think Floyd would of used similar tactics as he used to Corrales. There's not enough thought in Paul's work and he struggles with movement.

Yeah, Im sure Floyd would beat Paul now but at one time I did think PW had a good shot!!! Further viewing had me sway my opinion as he doesn't use his reach as he should and likes to get involved fighting in the pocket, where with limbs as long as his he isn't as effective. I guess what I'm trying to say is a taller fighter has the best chance against Floyd IMO. A fighter who can keep Floyd at range using a long jab, Oscar did very well for large periods of the fight against Floyd with this tactic and he was no spring chicken. I think PW has all the indgrediants to beat Floyd but doesn't know how to use them.

Top of my head from recent modern era:

    Super/feather: Nelson/Arguello/Chavez/Camacho
    Lightweight//Duran/Chavez/Whitaker
    Lt/Welter/ Chavez/Taylor/McGirt/Pryor
    Welter/Leonard/Duran/Hearns/benitez/robinson/Curry/Honeyghan/starling & about another 20+ more

Lt/Middle..McCallum/Hearns/Benitez/Mugabi. he're's a little taster as to the fate that would await Floyd when he's lounging on the ropes, you remember this one don't yer mate. Floyd on the ropes eats similar.

Look!! floyds done nothing above lightweight against any opposition of any note in comparison to the above named. I'll come back with an even bigger list in the morning as there's so many out there that would handle floyd IMHO + the likes of Duran,Chavez & Whitaker would beat Floyd at any weight:deal

Was never sold on Paul tbh, I get what your saying but Pwilly is a fighter that should of changed trainers a damn site earlier. Peterson is a truly awful trainer and his advice and aftermath critic of the Martinez II fight is embarrassing. He should heap a large part of the blame for that loss due to his ignorance towards Sergio.

**** loads of fighters would beat him, his style looks good against straight-on one-dimensional fighters.

Sweet Pea, Duran, Leonard and Hearns are the obvious choices.

At 147, Marlon Starling and Don Curry. Floyd is the most overrated fighter of all time, how many formidable stylists has he faced, let alone trounced?

I think Floyd would have beaten Williams. He should have took that fight, Paul is just too open.

Williams might well have outworked him at 147. I'd fancy Floyd via close decision if he's really negative.
