The question that every boxing fans and scribes is asking is whether the Pacquiao and Mayweather fight will ever happen. The answer is a big yes. It will happen both inside and outside the ring. We all know that Pacquiao has instructed Bob Arum to start suing the Mayweathers over steroid accusations in the next few days. If the Mayweathers are found guilty, this would cost them millions of money as reparation fee for the damage they have done to the personality of Manny. The slander case that team Pacquiao is pursuing is a not only to protect the Filipino's image by but also a business move. Even before the first punch is thrown in the ring, Manny is expected to earn millions of dollars from the law suits. It is a well known story that Mayweather Jr. owes the inland revenue some money for not paying his taxes properly. His lavish lifestyle of owning expensive cars and the reported stolen jewelry is now catching up on his earnings. If Manny wins the court case, that would mean more dollars coming out of his empty bank account. This is why Floyd Jr. has to fight Pacquiao in order to pay the bills. Floyd is guaranteed to earn at least $25 million. The amount would balloon to around $35 million if the fight would sell more than 2.5 million buys in pay per view. There is no way Money May can earn this amount of dollars by fighting Mosley or a Matthew Hatton. Team Mayweather cannot afford to let this fight go. The Mayweather camp has to realize that they already have enough advantage to beat the supposedly "small" Filipino welterweight. Floyd Jr. has the height advantage and possesses a longer reach than Pacquiao. He is also the bigger man in this fight and had fought bigger guys like Oscar De La Hoya in 154 pound division. His hand speed is known to be as quick as that of Manny. His defense, counterpunching skills and the ability to think and adapt as the fight goes on are amazingly pleasurable to watch. Floyd's attempt to gain more advantage over his opponent by demanding unnecessary drug testing procedures is starting to back fire. Mayweather has to accept a compromise drug testing procedure that team Pacquiao is offering. That is three blood test and unlimited urine testing. The opportunity cost of not fighting Pacquiao is just too much for Mayweather. The powers that be also has a lot to lose in not making this fight. That is why the fight will happen in and outside the ring. http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/284466
if he fights Shane, will PBF require USADA tests? Shane admitted to using drugs while Pac passed all these tests. Will GBP require these tests? Didn't they declined to do this on Shane before?
interesting view...i hope this will happen but if not, there are other fights there for manny. to be honest, floyd needs this more than manny does i'm disappointed though. far too much bitching going on. why cant they just an honest fight and why are they singling out manny? i am an american but i feel for the filipino. if he has been american and dare i say black, nobody would have question his achievements!
I disagree....Pacquiao has options to fight a lot of guys around.....Who does Mayweather have as a tune-up, if pacquiao-floyd gets pushed back? The only 2 I can think of that are notable is collazo or clottey....and niether one of those guys prepare you for pacquiao....malignaggi does have speed and unorthadox movement to prepare you for floyd....this is what I think arum is thinking.... Besides Malignaggi will come to fight, win or lose....and will fight anybody...it's not a bad tune-up for pacquiao when you think about it...War Paulie!
