I thought he did. I noticed it, and then commented on it later. I found out about the blood drawn issue later. He said the same thing then and says the same thing now. He felt it was a dirty tactic, and he believes that's why he lost. Wanna know why Pac refused to have his blood drawn close to the Mayweather fight? That's why... that's where the refusal to have his blood drawn close to a fight stemmed from.

Yeah, absolutely. That's the warrior in him. However, I thought he looked fatigued though. Very fatigued, early in the fight.

I wouldn't call it struggling if it never caused him to lose. It definitely caused him problems, but struggling is a stretch.

Won the 2nd. Won the 3rd. And almost knocked Marquea out in the 4th.

Back to the forth, why was Marquez being dominated so heavily? Why wasn't the game-plan working? Marquez was even feinting Pacquiao, but Pacquiao was still dominating, to the point where Marquez was on the brink of being KO'ed himself. Did Pacquiao adjust, figure out the solution to this?

I am absolutely not denying it. In fact, if you reread my previous post, I actually mentioned how I agree that it is important.

Uh, what fight have you seen where Pac didn't throw body shots?

Believe me, that left straight to the body is gonna be deep in the pit of Mayweather' stomach.

Pacquiao has lost 4 times, he clearly beat Bradley.

The excuses for the Morales losses run rampant, i've heard it a lot. Morales was 29 years old when he first lost to Pacman, that's young. Secondly, it was less than a year from his win vs Pac. So he beats Pac and less than a year later, at only 29, he aged. I think it's sorry excuses. Pacman beat him fair and square, he beat a prime Morales twice. In the end, Manny changed his game plan and given he had the superior raw skills, Erik couldn't hang with him.

as far as this technical breakdown, i think it's well put together but if i had to critique it, i'd point out the following - lead foot positioning is overblown. I mean, anyone can pick spots during a fight and make a video supporting an argument either way. I'm sure i can find several points in those fights where the man with the better positioning with lead foot, didn't get the better of exchanges. There are times during the fight when lead foot positioning isn't going to produce positive results. It may work at times, but it's just simpleton tactic 'get lead foot positioning and you win'; man, if it were this easy.

The ****ysis of how different JMM and Mayweather are is quite good, they are clearly different types of fighters. I don't think focusing on lead foot positioning will be that key vs floyd. I think Manny will need to use his right hook effectively. Towards the end of the video, it shows how Manny has effectively used the left straight-right hook combo, i think this could be effective vs floyd. Floyd will be looking for left hand all fight. I also think that Manny can probably take advantage of the jab to the body Floyd throws a lot, i think Manny can counter that as Floyd seems to leave himself exposed momentarily when he reaches in to throw it. Those jabs Floyd throws are kinda reckless, IMO.

I don't understand how you refuse to believe Morales explaining his tactics in victory, Pacquiao losing to Marquez, then getting knocked out leads you to to believe lead foot position against Pacquiao isn't important. It's something any trainer will tell you about southpaw-orthodox match-ups. You're clearly someone so defensive and hellbent on creating the illusion Pacquiao doesn't struggle or lose legitimately (which is ridiculous) that it's not worth engaging any further.

It's not easy to do, and there are many other factors I pointed out besides just stepping outside. And in fact, I talk about how you can win going in the other direction too, and how getting lead foot position the wrong way can cost you (Bradley).

I'd appreciate if rabid Pac fans pleased stopped commenting after watching the first five minutes and then pretending decades of conventional wisdom don't apply to the men saying it themselves who beat Pacquiao.

You keep on saying that I'm saying it isn't important, though I've reiterated in my past two posts that it is.

Morales was KO'ed two times after. You say it was because he was shot. Well, for the first fight, I can use the excuse that Pacquiao was at a serious disadvantage physically and he wasn't close to 100% as was Morales when he faced Pac two times after.

He lost to Marquez once... after beating him two times (when Marquez employed that strategy) and Marquez was on the verge of being knocked out the 4th fight...and when I asked why the "turning Pacquiao" strategy wasn't working then, you refused to answer.

You aren't getting my message, but oh well. I didn't think you would.

I actually am picking Mayweather to win. I just don't agree that turning Pacquiao is the winning recipe.

Great to see another person who has the ability to appreciate any fighter. Regardless of their race/preference/style.

Good job mate. A great breakdown.

    Good video, thanks for posting.

I think the foot placement part has been and is known. For me, the two most revealing parts about that video were actually both regarding JMM:

The looping right hand around Pacquiao's guard. Mayweather is great with this punch and has used it many times. This may be one of his go to weapons in this fight. Left jab to the body, looping right to the head. It's what JMM first dropped manny with (minus the jab to the body of course)

And, when it was discussed how JMM would lean down, and to his left (Manny's right side), under Manny's right hook and away and safe from Manny's left cross. The thing here is that JMM would do this, and stay in range to fire shots. Mayweather does this, but he always creates distance with it, and moves out of range. Wonder if Mayweather will try to make that adjustment, to go there, but stay there to fire shots when Pac is off balance.

who are you calling rabid? based on what? So no-one can critique your flawless ****ysis? I said it was well put together but only pointed out i think it's not as easy as 'get foot positioning and that's it'. I know you say it's not easy to do but i still think there is a lot more to consider here.

JMM and Morales are aggressive, they throw a lot and they stay in the line of fire. They also have decent speed and skills; they are great fighters. I think anyone with this style and skills can challenge Pacquiao. Lead foot positioning is something every coach knows, it's pretty basic stuff. To think that DLH couldn't implement such basic tactic when he fought Pac (using same trainer JMM used) is naive. Same thing goes with Cotto, Marg, Rios, Hatton. it's an insult to think Robert Garcia, Nacho and other trainers couldn't come up with such a simple tactic but we can in this forum. Point being that Morales and JMM had other skills which combined with moments of having an advantage with lead foot, produced positive results. I think this is more than a fair assessment.

As far as JMM and Morales' wisdom, which you claim some us ignore. Morales got dominated by Pac in the 2nd and 3rd fights. So why couldn't he use such basic tactics in their 2nd and 3rd fights? I don't want to hear that he aged in less than a year and was old at 29. Pacquiao made adjustments, some of which you have alluded to. The tactics Morales is seeing talking about in that video, didm;t work too well. As far as JMM goes, he struggled vs Pac as much as Pac struggled against him. I think lead foot positioning and turning clockwise did seem to work at times, i'm not saying these tactics are garbage. What i'm saying is that JMM had other tactics and skills which in combination yielded positive results. I think you would agree that simply going into the ring with a strategy of getting better lead foot positioning and turning clockwise isn't going to work for most fighters, many other trainers and fighters would've used it and Pac would have 20 losses by now.

I think what i state above is more that fair, don't attack posters just because they disagree. I definitely think these tactics work at times, but again, there is a lot more at play.

lasltly, i laughed at Mosely's trainer when he was making it sounds so simple. Fact is, Mosely lost and easily. Of course, excuses run rampant 'he was too old and injured to implement it'. Again, these tactics definitely work at times but there's a lot more required to beat Manny. DOn't get me wrong, this is a very good breakdown, but no breakdown is perfect and in the end, some of it is opinion.

And I detailed much more than lead foot positioning in my video. Nobody said it was easy. Those fighters and trainers surely knew about it, but execution is something different altogether.
