Will Mayweather's five inch reach advantage prove to be a big problem for Pacquiao?

How big of a factor do you think it will be in this match?

Won't mean a thing. Pac's usually been the smaller/shorter guy since his move up to 147, he is used to it and he has the speed on his side. Also it's not like mayweather is a lot taller, he is at most 2 1/2 inches taller.

This is what I was thinking initially but Pac is usually a lot faster than his opponents, in this case he is in with a guy who also has speed

Thats why I'm starting to favor Mayweather

The man who made a name of himself by getting past huge fighters with longer reaches?

Nah, I don't think it will.

Of course it will be a factor only a fool would say otherwise. Pbf isn't like all the other guys he's fought he's better it will be a factor. Pbf knows how to use his reach he knows how to fight tall. Also PAC already lunges in he will have to even more so against pbf which is a recipe for disaster especially against a master counter puncher.

Yeah but pac doesn't have to worry about FMJs punching power like he did a lot of those other fighters.

Mayweather is similar in dimensions to Clottey, didn't effect Pac there. So maybe, maybe not.

It depends on how much Floyd decides to use his jab. If you don't work behind a jab your reach is meaningless. I always tthought this was one aspect of Floyd's game that was always under utilized. He doesnt set his offense behind a jab often enough. His offense consists mostly of pot shots and counters.

It will be factor, how much of a factor....its to be determine next Saturday...but as of today, I beleive it will be a factor on Pacquiao's game plan....I do think Pacquiao has the speed advantage for this fight!... And you can quote me on that one!
