Floyd was 152 on fightnight vs Marquez and that was weighing in at 146 with a 144 target, so how would he be lighter after weighing in at 147 with a 147 target? :huh

How jmm looked next to Floyd is irrelevant. Jmm wasn't a solid 148. Foolish comparison.

I have not seen any fight night weights for that fight. Furthermore, Mayweather has never weighed in over 149 on fight night in any fight. He claims he was 148 against Hoya and 147 against Mosley. If he was heavier against Marquez(which I have not seen any proof that he was), it was probably due to him coming off a 21 month layoff.

He was 152 vs Marquez, it said so in The Ring magazine. I'll get you a page reference and edition later. And that was weighing in at 146, so he will be that weight or greater vs Pac.

I'd like to see that, because I really would like to know how The Ring got his fight night weight but not HBO. Furthermore, Mayweather was 147 on fight night in his very next fight. So how does him coming in at 152 against Marquez prove that he'll be 152 or higher on fight in any future fights, especially when you consider he was 147 on fight night in his very next fight? Your fight night weights have a lot to do with training camp. If you have a great camp, and eat right, your body will adjust well to your new weight. Once that happens, it's hard to put on weight. So if a guy is say 154 lbs. one week out from the fight, you can expect him to rehydrate to around that amount on fight night. If a fighter is 147 or 148 a week or so out from the fight, you wouldn't expect him to rehydrate more than a couple of lbs. after the weigh in.

    Good thread.

emmanuel looked nearly the same size as Cotto.

It was on the scene a few weeks back that emmanuel wanted to beef up to 152-153 before he gets schooled by Void.

Did Mayweather look bigger in his fight w/ Marquez or Mosley?

PBF is probaly now coming in at about 160 on fight night.
If you saw the Mosley fight you see PBF at the weigh in which he makes at 147 and his upper body looks drained as hell. His arms and shoulders looked like twigs then on fight night his shoulders and biceps looked huge compared to the day before.

Pac is not small like everyone else says he is. Im sure he is now coming in to fight nights at around 152-155.
Just like Nazim said. The greatest trick Roach ever pulled was making the world think he was small. Pac has been outweighing his opponents since the 2nd Morales fight. I believe Diaz was a pound heavier and Fatton might have been heavier too i dont remember the weights.

PBF is bigger weight wise but not by much.
Its the height and reach where he is much bigger than Pac.

i think you misundertood what nazeem had said here. he is saying that people thinks pac is small but he fights big or he can get it on with the bigger boys. he still thinks pac is a small guy who can handle big guys because of his ability and greatness.

of course, jmm was a blown-up welter. and besides floyd who is already a fully developed welter, jmm would look tiny besides him. i brought up jmm as reference on how floyd culd have weighted during fight night since this is the topic of the thread. if jmm was 148 then, what do you think was floyd's weight on fight night?

    150. Floyd keeps himself in to good of shape to go up to 155. Jmm's 148 was water and fat. It wasn't a solid weight to where you could make that comparison.

I don't believe Floyd that he was 147 on fightnight vs Mosley, not at all.

I will find that page reference and get back to you, Floyd was 152 vs Marquez, and he will be that or more vs Pacquiao IMO.

He specifically said he wanted to be 151 lbs. but couldn't put on the weight. I'm not sure why he would lie about something like that, but it's your perogitive as to whether or not you believe him.

I assume the person who wrote the article actually saw Mayweather step on the scale. Anyway, none of know for sure what either one of these guys will weigh on fight night. Neither one of their fight night weights have been revealed by HBO as of lately. Going off of previous weights though, I would assume they would be pretty close in weight.

Marquez isn't bigger than emmanuel. emmanuel made a career out of being bigger and overpowering other fighters.
