to start with you wouldn't be starting this thread if you have been here long - a lot of threads have been created for this.

on a serious note i favor mayweather to beat pac, but that doesn't mean that mayweather is invincible. pac will be mayweather's toughest fight, pac cannot box with mayweather but he can certainly outwork him. throwing 30-40 punches aint gonna win you much rounds and I don't see mayweather's pop discouraging pac with his assault.

    Who's older?
Who relies more on speed, reflexes and athleticism?
If the fight DOESN'T happen, whose career is gonna hurt more? :hat

Im just asking about people's opinions on the fight.Ive read them before, but there have been some new developments in both fighter's careers. And in the light of the developments, opinions can change.

this is a simple inquiry about people's thoughts on this fight and the only thing im getting is hate.

how have I given the impression that I think Floyd is some invincible Jesus of boxing??

Do you really think people care than much about what a bunch of tossers think about them on a internet forum??

And still, you are THE poster with 20k+ posts nobody cares about or knows. You haven't contributed **** since the day you joined. When compared with other posters with this many posts, you are to them as Mike W is to InternationalButt

The same discussion that has been going on since late 2008...I'm starting to wonder if the fight is ever going to happen. I really don't know anymore.

    To answer the question:

Pac can do it. He needs his classic ferocity and aggression, the sort of thing he used to show against his best opponents. (Hopefully it'll come back against Marquez in the upcoming match.) Mayweather is a thinking fighter who likes a slow pace, where he can break someone down piece by piece with his left-hook or his straight right, which is the recommended shot against a southpaw. He'll want to take it nice and slow, and make it a clinic. Pac has to take that plan and completely ruin it with a whirlwind style approach...don't give Floyd a second to rest or think. Make him fight constantly in every single round. Very few fighters in the sport have the necessary stamina and offensive abilities to do this...Pac, however, does have the tools to get it done.

Floyd will be alternating between the high guard and the shoulder roll, and he might even get aggressive and try to walk Pac down, as he seems to favour this strategy against southpaw opponents. This is the wrong way to fight Pac, though -- to fight Pac you need to move away and constantly turn him while countering. (Basically, the style Floyd used against Corrales would be perfect, but does he still have the legs for that?) If Floyd uses his usual anti-southpaw strategy, it could be a disaster, as he'll be walking right into the finest offensive fighter in the sport today, who loves it when people come to him. Pac will have to go to the body, as he did against Clottey, and look to counter Floyd's straight right with his lead hook. Basically, he needs to dismantle Floyd's best weapon, that straight right...if he can consistently counter it and stun Floyd then he's on the road to victory. His counter hook could be the key, but it will be very difficult to time someone with that sort of speed and non-telegraphic shots.

He needs to use constant head movement while moving forward. He needs to work on cutting off the ring in the gym, just in case Mayweather switches his style up. He needs constant feints to put mental pressure on Floyd and create openings. His main weapon will of course be his famous straight left...this is the punch that can change the tide of just about any fight he's in. It's the punch that even a defensive master like Floyd will be worried about, because it only takes one to change everything. (Just ask Shane.) When Floyd goes into his shoulder-roll stance (which he always does at some points, even against southpaws) I think Pac should seize the chance to send that straight left right down the pipe. A jab-jab-left combination should do the trick. (Basically the same sort of approach Judah used when he stunned Floyd with the same punch.) I wouldn't be surprised if Pac gave Floyd the first real knockdown of his career using this shot.

Last thing to note...don't go in there expecting a fragile dancer who crumbles when you land hard shots. As Nazim pointed out, Floyd turns into a 'dragon' when you hurt him, and this is when he's most dangerous. He has different gears...usually he's only in first gear, but when you stun him (Mosley round 2, for example) he takes it up a gear and becomes aggressive. Instead of cowering, he tries to instantly dominate you, to make you regret your actions. At this point the other guy inevitably crumbles. Pac has faced Morales, Barrera and Marquez, though...he came back fighting like a warrior. He needs to remember that and maintain his composure. Floyd is most dangerous in this mode, true, but he's also more vulnerable because he's opening up more. Use this to your advantage and catch him while he's throwing, and you could seriously hurt him. It will turn into a war, and if anyone loves a war, it's Pac.
