This is only my theory and its totally up for debate but I think based upon the players (mayweather, pacquiao, haymon, arum, schafer, odlh) that there may be some accuracy to it.

Over the years Floyd has clearly proved himself to be the #1 ppv attraction in the sport, no doubt pacquiao is a strong PPV attraction as well but he is solidly in 2nd place behind floyd. Due to floyd being the #1 ppv attraction I think Mayweather and Schafer (along with Haymon) began to build a strong relationship to continue doing what had to be done to make money.

While this was happening ODLH felt neglected from the sport in which he feels he is the king of, floyd was calling the shots and its no secret that Floyd & ODLH don't really like each other. Respect, absolutely... but LIKE I just cannot see. So over the past 2-3 Mayweather fights ODLH started exploring options to regain power in the sport and along comes Arum. Arum being the scum that he is smelled the rift in the relationship (whether it was because of ODLH reaching out or just by hear say) and extended an olive branch to ODLH with terms that they both try to foil the success of mayweather (who arum also doesn't really like).

FFW until 3 weeks ago and this explains the Golden Boy HBO relationship. Arum is priming ODLH to take his position as the top promoter and maintain the power and priming canelo to be the next PPV attraction. I personally believe that Arum and DLH have a plan to feed Canelo to pacquiao right at the moment that Pacquiao starts showing some serious flaws in his game (which in the minds of many he already has started to deteriorate)

This arum - odlh relationship isn't really a good thing for the sport, it is only a good thing for ODLH & Arum to keep mayweather from being "THE MAN" in the sport. I'm not implying that floyd would beat pacqiuao or anything but I think arum and odlh are aware that floyd not fighting pacquiao will be a blemish on his resume, I also think that they realize floyd winning that fight will place him on an even higher peak than he is now (regardless of if the fight is past its due date)

I personally expect things to happen like this

    Canelo fights Clottey
    Pacquiao fights Algeri

    Canelo Fights Cotto (in may)
Pacquiao fights Alvarado (if pac beats algeri, expect alvardo to beat rios)

I would expect to see Canelo vs Pacquiao on mexican independence day. They may even try to feed Marquez to pacquiao in hopes of weakening him up for Canelo on Mexican Indi Day 2015

    Meanwhile on showtime

Floyd vs Khan will happen. Floyd will probably beat khan by a decision, after a few clean shots Khan will be stuck in the ground

Then Floyd will end up taking someone random (thurmond, brook, etc) Floyd will finish with his undefeated record but everyone will call him a coward for never fighting Pacquiao

Arum & DLH will hope to have their new PPV prodigy and Pac will retire, or take floyd on showtime REALLY past its due date.....

    Very biased thread.

I don't think Floyd beats Khan, infact Khan is a very dangerous fight for him , almost as dangerous as Pac in his prime.

All this is possible but at the end of the day Floyd will retire soon so they not taking anything away from him, he will cede his position to whoever is good enough to take it, in all honesty I don't believe it's Canelo, he is a lesser version of De La Hoya if you ask me....after Floyd retires I actually think Kell Brook can dominate the welterweight division, Brook-Thurman is the next Leonard-Hearns for me...

Floyd may have slowed down but Khan is not a dangerous fight for him, if that fight happens Khan will get stopped in 8

Whom has Mayweather stopped in last 10 years apart from Victor Ortiz (that too because of a cheap shot) :patsch

and if Maidana who's the hardest puncher at WW couldn't drop Khan, I don't see Mayweather with his brittle and fragile hands able to do so.

yeah, he dropped him but didn't 'stop' him, Khan went on to win that fight.

You're talking like as if Khan's been stopped several times, which is obviously not true and Mayweather has No Power left anymore.

Here's why Khan will lose to Mayweather, he is not active enough to beat Floyd, he barely fights but once a year, he has bad footwork, he can't stand his ground, he's always bouncing around looking for an escape route, his flurries always leave him open to counters, he won't land punches against Floyd, Floyd's defense is too good especially against orthodox fighters. Floyd will time Khan and pull counter his azz out of there!

Khan is about as dangerous to Floyd as Zab was when they fought. Because some saw him as a 'live underdog' they made the mistake of actually picking him to win.

kahn won't beat floyd. Khan looking HORRIBLE his past two fights. He probably should have lost 1 of his last 2.

Not only htat but floyd reduces pretty much everyoens work rate. All the nonsense Khan does will be negated after a few rights.

Interesting theory. Certainly if Floyd gets to Pacquioa first, he will be holding ALL the cards, even after he retires. Canelo needs to win against an ATG to speed his progression as Oscar's heir apparent. He couldn't get there against Floyd. Floyd was still too game to be had by a fighter of Canelo's experience, at the time. He dashed all hopes of Canelo and Oscar using him as a crutch, and shattered records in the process.

Pac on the other hand, may be ripe for the taking in another year. He's on the slide and Canelo is growing in experience. ..fast. Canelo will get past Clottey and Cotto...by hook or crook. And Pac is who will set his sights on. I see Pac getting fed to someone before he retires. It might very be Canelo. They better hope it doesn't backfire though.
