Did you see Mayweather on the ropes vs Hatton and Oscar?

If he gets caught on the ropes by Pavlik which he would he would get knocked out. Plus Mayweathers defence relies alot on blocking punches.

Those punches that he would block would hurt him.

Mayweather would be stopped in 3 rounds or less.

I don't see how you could make this hypothetical matchup.

If Mayweather is reluctant to get in the ring with tallently limited Margarito, what makes you think he would step in there with Pavlik?

It's nice to think that Mayweather would beat all these guys, but I just don't see it happening because there is nothing to base this off of.

Mayweather needs to fight the guys at welterweight before people start making threads about him beating the middleweight champ.

so you criticise the pavlickers when your blatant pretty boy nuthugging is clear,it would be nothing like the jones v ruiz fight,mayweather doesnt have the reflexes of jones or near the same reach as pavlik,this would that for pbf to win he'd have to work his way inside often as you say pavlik likes to fight at distance,yet how often have we seen pbf do this?pavlik himself is not slow,he cuts off the ring very well with his jab and his footwork is very solid,we also must ask the question of whether pbf can hurt pavlik,i don't,pavlik has rarely been in serious trouble and when it was it was against very decent punchers.

pbf doesnt try to avoid punches in the way rjj did,instead he uses his shoulder rollto try and create an opening in the opponents defence yet how do you think a 5'8 pbf would cope with a 6'3 top 3 power puncher p4p throwing against him on the ropes,added to that pavlik is no ruiz and does not attempt to swarm leaving very little options for pbf but to run all night,or indeed stand up and fight.

could he pot shot his way to victory,for me not a chance.
