Not many people knew or cared who Castillo was until he had Mayweather holding on to his 0

He was calling out Oscar and Shane when they were at 154 pounds and he was still a light welterweight.
He even negotiated a fight with Winky Wright when he was still at 140 and Wright was at 160

I'm very glad that fight didn't happen though lol

The question isn't whether Floyd beats SRR at 147lbs...He doesn't.

The question is whether he's capable of making it competitive (which he could, imo, at least for a little while), and whether he's tough enough to last the distance. And over 10-12, I think he's tough enough, and defensively sound enough to make it to the final bell.

    Merchant doesn't sound drunk there.

Pacquaio would KO Mayweather, freezing up on the ropes, let alone Sugar Ray Robinson.

Actually, JLC was starting to get attention, because he beat a very solid titleholder in Stevie Johnston, and was coming off a nice victory over a still viable former titleholder in Cesar Bezan. He was definitely considered the class of the weight at the point when he met Mayweather for the first time.

Like when he negotiated with Cotto , Tszyu , Tyson , Lewis , Ali.

He didnt want anything of ****ing Margarito , let alone Winky.

robinson by brutal KO, no welterweight version of floyd would beat him

would be interesting to watch prime LW floyd versus a still raw LW SRR though

I agree , a solid champion, but not the lightweight of his era as Michigan was putting it .

    He wasnt ****ing Duran.

No he never negotiated fights with any of those fighters except Winky. He did offer Margarito a fight in place of Judah, but he turned it down :deal

Nonsense. CAstillo beat Stevie Johnston. Everyone knew who Stevie Johnston was. Can you name the other belt holders at 135 the year Floyd fought Castillo?

His era. There era he fought in. Hell if Castillo was in his prime in this era, he'd be the best 135lber.

Much better fantasy fight than Floyd vs Hearns or Leonard.

At least Ray started his career at 135 @ 19 which isn't too far off from the weight Floyd started at.
