Watch ODLH absolutely school Trinidad and then tell me how Trinidad beats Floyd. ODLH fought a Mayweather fight and Trinidad barely laid a glove on him. Mayweather would use the same tactics, but apply them even better. Floyd UD. Tell me how this isn't the outcome.
Hard fight to predict. Oscar was a very skilled boxer, but different than Mayweather. Oscar used combinations and footwork against Tito's offense, which was highly effective. I'm not sure shoulder roll would work against Trinidad. Tito would just pound Mayweather. Unless Mayweather can make the very accurate Trinidad miss whislt standing on a corner or against the ropes, then I see Tito winning. You cannot really use DLH's fight to measure how Mayweather would do.
winky wright schooled trinidad and made him look like an amateur with just a jab, albeit a good one. i cant see how someone who could get outboxed so easily buy just a good jab would give any trouble to mayweather. mayweather would absoloutely school him.
I'd go with Tito in this one. Maybe if Floyd beats Mosley convincingly I'd change my mind, but right now my gut feeling is that a prime Tito would be too big, too robust, too powerful, too aggressive, too active. The mistake you guys make again and again and again is thinking that Floyd is as great at 147+ as he was at 130. He isn't. Floyd is a superior fighter to Tito, and at 130 Floyd comprehensively defeats a Tito-standard fighter. But up at 147, Floyd doesn't beat Tito IMO. Floyd took 10 rounds to break down Hatton, he couldn't stop a tiny, blunted and overweight Marquez over 12 rounds, and he only managed to take an unconvincing and unimpressive SD against a years past-prime Oscar at 154. Prime Tito isn't little Sharmba Mitchell, he isn't shitey Baldomir, he isn't a mental midget like Judah, he is a 5ft 11in natural welter who blew away lightmiddles and middles. He would force Floyd to fight very defensively and very cautiously, and would inflict enough damage to take a decision. Floyd shouldn't be put in hypothetical h2hs with welterweights, he isn't a natural welter and isn't a great welter. Floyd vs Arguello, Chavez or Nelson at 130, now those are good fights to consider.
Money has all the tools for a boring UD decision, but we're talking fighting Tito @147....... Not so sure if that shoulder roll would be effective...........Even though Oscar was winning that fight, he was DEAD tired from all that moving.....Floyd also doesn't have the physical advantages over Tito, he actually smaller meaning he would have to be VERY careful early on... I would pick Floyd via Decision, but wouldn't wager any $
I wanted to say that in my earlier thread, but I'm not sure about the ages of some of the guys on here..... It's like they only saw Tito fight Roy Jones, when he was 25 pounds from where he should have been.
Trinidad won with both DLH and Whitaker, no matter if the wins were gifts, he was able to pull it off he would be able to do the same to Floyd plus he would have still a legitimate chance to score KO.
We will know more after the Mosley fight. Prime Tito is vastly superior to any welterweight Floyd has faced. The best fighter Floyd has recently faced was a years past prime ODLH and he won a close SD. Tito is a far better fighter than that version of Oscar. If Floyd beats Mosley in convincing fashion, I will review this, but for now, Tito KO.
Oscar and Winky are a lot bigger and have longer reach than Floyd. Out-boxing someone is not just question of boxing skills.
