It would be a great fight but I got Floyd winning a clear UD.

Sweet Pea via UD. No doubt in my mind. PBF has showed me nothing suggesting he'd be able to compete at 147.

Now, both fighters at 135, that would be better.

Both were not at their best at 147.

    I pick Whitaker.

i think its a 50/50 fight. both are fast, both are very good dfensively, anything could happen. Even though I give Pea a lil more hot b/c he puts his punches 2gether more. But its 50/50 imo

This is 1 Whitaker fight I hadnt seen before, cheers sweet pea.

Yet again another shutout for Pernell, the way Whitaker made good fighters look like rank amatuers was amazing.

No way Floyd beats this guy, Whitaker wins by UD.

There's nothing PBF does better than Sweet Pea. You can make a case that he hits harder, even though 20 of his 25 kayo's were at 130lbs, but a way past his best Pea took every shot Trinidad had and stayed there. I doubt PBF's power would mean much in this fight. Pernell had the better jab, the better workrate, the better bodypunching, the better footwork, and his southpaw stance would be an advantage for him. Whitaker by a relatively close, but very clear UD.

A clear UD in your 12th pro fight over a legitimate 2-time world champion, yeah, that's the thing to bring up when trying to say Floyd wins. Who was PBF's 12th opponent? It would be a little shocking if the opponent had a winning record wouldn't it.

I disagree. Floyd had a better defense. Floyd was more accurate and took less punches. How many times has Floyd been legitimately dropped? However again as I alluded to before, Pernell had a better work rate is true, he simply threw more punches. So its hard to use defense against Pernell, but I think Mayweather was ultimately the better defender technically.

I feel jab, speed and footwork is a wash. Floyd has an excellent jab, as shown against De La Hoya and Hatton, his lead right is much better then any punch Pea has in his arsenal in my estimation. Probably one of the best in history. When you talk about lead rights you have to throw Floyd in the discussion with Hopkins and Pavlik today. Secondly even though power possibly wouldnt matter much. Whitaker had 5 ko wins in 10 years. Floyd has had 5 Ko wins over the course of 4 years. I dont think the move up in weight has effected Floyds power at all, probably added to it.
