PTP would force him to fight. His work rate whether the punches are clean or not would win the judges over imo.
I'm not sure on this one. I'd favor Floyd against anyone 147 and south but in the case of Williams I don't know if Paul would outwork him to a decision or Floyd's more accurate punching would win more rounds. I imagine Floyd would find a way to cut down William's work rate some but that's a tough task.
coming from huge fan of both guys...i dont think Floyd can really win... you have to look at this fight and ask yourself these questions.. can Floyd Mayweather beat Paul Williams in a fire fight? because at the end of the day paul williams is just going to throw anywhere from 1000-1200 punches and floyd will have to be able to dance around all those while landing shots on pw.... floyd doesnt have enough power imo to hurt paul.. maybe in accumulation but for every 1 or 2 that floyd land... paul will throw 4 to 6... its hard for me to imagine floyd winning
Williams could probably put more pressure on Floyd than he's ever dealt with, and Paul's going to do that for 12 rounds. I need to see Floyd fight again to have a more definitive idea on this one.
PTP had trouble with Quintana's south paw stance and also for some unforeseen reason, failed to produce a high work in that fight. I don't think he would make that mistake against Mayweather or Quintana again if they ever had a rubber match.
I can see either one winning. I'm not so sure Paul would get his usual number of punches off against a defensive genius like Floyd. Floyd would not be able to run around Paul the whole fight. He'd probably tie him up and fight on the inside, use the jab more than usual, things to keep Paul off his rhythm.
A great boxer will generally always beat a boxer who relies on workrate. And the workrate will generally be cut by a great boxer.
