I don't believe he has the power to interrupt his rhythm. Mayweather's pot shots will come at a price with Williams throwing non stop punches.
Paul obviously has a good chin anyway, and then you take into account Floyd does not have great power at 147, you're probably right. He'll have to use all his tricks to keep Paul off balance.
The 147 version of Floyd does not have the size or work rate to win. You are not going to beat Williams throwing 450 punched over 12.
Williams reminds me alot of Margarito. Just bigger, stronger and faster, with a more varied attack. But someone who is willing to stand in the pocket "swim without getting wet" and counter like Mosley was able to do will give this guy hell. I'd like to see how Mayweather would handle WIlliams.
Don't think pot shotting would work. He doesn't have the reach to do it, nor the stiff enough jab to keep Williams at bay.
Mayweather had the power to buckle De La Hoya to his knees above his natural weight class. Besides, power has nothing to do with it anyway. Do your thing though, B.
Yes, you can. Mayweather could easily cut Williams output to about 700. 450 from Mayweather with his accuracy could win him the fight.
DLH and Williams are too different. Williams high activity is a big key here. DLH has too many periods of doing nothing. Williams doesn't stop till the final bell.
Pot shotting isn't something you can do to just anyone. Especially with someone like Floyd who needs to be comfortable to do it.
Floyd would have to find a way to cut down on Paul's workrate, but that's a major task. Floyd is a blown up jr WW, Paul just beat up Winky at MW. He actually stunned Winky. That's a hell-of-a challenge for Floyd.
That has nothing to do with my reference. The reference was to power. Williams was stopping a **** load when Quintana was tagging him. Pot shotting is something you can do to Paul Williams. CLEARLY. Quintana did it for almost 13 rounds before he got caught, and he isn't even on the same planet as Mayweather defensively or in terms of overall skillset.
I think very highly of Paul Williams' chin. He fought you know who with you know what possibly in his gloves for 12 rounds. I neglect to say his name and to site the material hoping that my post will stealth past his supporters and avoid any backlash. :yep
