Man, the *****s are making themselves look bad. Any controversy would have been adverted if Floyd had just made the fight at 154lbs. It is made worse by the fact that he tried like hell to convince the world that Cotto was really undefeated and drained when he fought Pac. Would have been nice to see the unification bout taking place with no stipulations.

Be honest, how many Floyd fans go on and on about how small Floyd is. First ya'll say that Guerrero is naturally bigger then Floyd, yet ya'll laugh at Pac "dragging" Rios up. Going by your logic, Rios is naturally bigger then Pac since he rehydrates much heavier then Pac does. Ya'll give Pac hell for his catchweight fight against Margarito even though Margarito is much bigger then Pac. Floyd and Canelo are the same size height and arm length wise. All in all, the *****s and Floyd have caused the bitching and moaning because of their words.

It's embarassing how anyone can still defend it and pretend there's no hypocrisy

wonderful post, i have been one of the biggest floyd critics since he went on retirement but respect has to be given where respect is due. i am very pleased to see floyd take this fight. canelo is a huge question mark in the sense that we don't really know how good he is........and might bring out the best floyd that we have ever seen.

there is some hypocrisy in the way he verbally attacked manny. however, that hypocrisy doesnt change two things here: 1.) the 2 lb catchweight will have a marginal impact on canelo and 2.) this is still a pretty big unknown risk for floyd.
this opponent might be tougher than manny pacs last 5 opponents bc of canelo's sheer punching power.. moreover, canelo seems not to be a punching bag like margarito, the kid can box. canelo might have the tools to be somewhat tactical with floyd even though i believe floyd will tattoo him.

so therefore, floyd's apparent hypocrisy is a moot point.

    Understatement! A LOT of hypocrisy!

How you can claim that is beyond me. No one will know how it will affect him at this point in time.

Clearly JMM is a very very tough opponent for Pacquiao - we knew that going into fight IV that this was a very very close fight. I can't put Canelo in the same bracket as that match-up in terms of how competitive we KNEW it would be

Errr no it's not! FLoyd fans have made such a huge deal about catchweights over the years regarding Pacquiao and have used that as the almost single basis to discredit him. Floyd has done the same. And now he has insisted on a catchweight, one far worse than the 152 which was agreed...it's far from a moot point especially when *****s are trying to pretend there is none and come out with the lamest reasons as to why "this is different"

****ing Floyd...I've always thought this guy was going to be a legend. Now I am sure of it. Floyd the new Bernard Hopkins aka catchweight king. I think both fighters bhop and money are great but their use of catchweights diminishes their greatness. In conclusion I'll still watch the fight and it should be good, but I'm disappointed in Floyd.

    why wouldn't Floyd want 147?

    hes a natural ww.

and theres a very good chance that canelo wont even attempt to make the weight.

The 152lb catchweight is Mayweather flexing his muscles during negotiations, the truth is it will matter little to Canelo but it does give people a stick to beat him with here.

If someone is going to be badly affected by dropping an extra lb or two then they shouldn't be fighting at the weight anyway, you could literally **** a lb.

Ideally he will just drop the catchweight because he doesn't deserve to lose credit if he does win, as for what he said about Cotto he does look like a hypocrite but it's only remembered by people that spend too much time on forums anyway.

Mayweather is certainly a big time hypocrite. He's contradicted himself countless times. None the less, this one of the biggest fights in boxing. We're still going to watch, and Mayweather will pocket a ton of money.

I respect this...and I agree, bottom line a great fight for the fans and something that we should appreciate and enjoy.

The weight only affected Cotto against PAC, not the case with Canelo :patsch.
