^^^:lol:suddenly if you can't make the weight don't sign the contract:lol::patsch. The weight was a huge difference for Cotto vs PAC but suddenly it won't affect Canelo all :patsch.

I hope he doesn't. He should weigh-in at the same he did for Trout.

glad that the fight's happening, no problem with a catchweight. confused as to why fmj fans deny hypocrisy on his behalf, or the point of a 2lb drop if it ain't gonna affect canelo.

what i will say is the 11 stone belts shouldn't be on the line at 152.

It's not the 11 stone belts. They're the JMW belts. The alphabet belts have to be on the line I believe. I don't think a champion can take a non title fight within their own division.

    14lb per st, mate. 154/14=11.

sure about the non-title thing? not saying you're wrong.

I looked up the IBF and WBC rules. Both state that your belt has to be on the line if you're fighting in your own division. The WBA probably has the same rule.

No. That wouldn't make any sense. If that were the case, champions could just decline to pay sanctioning fees and fight non title fights within their division whenever they wanted. That of course would defeat the purpose of having a rule stating that a champion has to defend his belt when fighting within his own division.

ok, but the division is 154, not 152, see my point? not stating you should agree, i'm uncomfortable with it whatever the rules say.

if 2lb is immaterial, just fight at 154.

I see your point, but your point is flawed. The division is not 154. The division is JMW. The weight limit for JMW is 154. As long as neither fighter comes in over 154, it can be sanctioned as a JMW bout. I'm not saying how it should or shouldn't be, I'm saying how it is.

but the limit for this fight is 152, and therefore not at the jmw limit. i believe a fight for a belt should be at, not within, the limit. if you then wanna come in 2lb under, that's up to you.

    still glad the fight's on.

The JMW could technically be anything under 154lbs. The thing is, many of the *****s laugh at Pacquiao for winning the title at 150lbs and are now changing their tune because it's Mayweather.

That's fine. But you have to look at what limit means. If the speed limit is 55 and you're going 51, are you breaking the law? The answer is a resounding no. The rules state that in a JMW bout, neither guy can be over the limit. So this fight meets the criteria and will be sanctioned as a JMW bout. Because it's a JMW bout, the titles have to be on the line. If Alvarez wasn't ok with that, he could've declined the contract weight proposal. If you don't like the catchweight, that's fine. However, this is a JMW bout and the belts have to be on the line.

And? Many Pacquiao fans claimed that Mayweather's request for extra drug testing was unreasonable and a way to duck the fight. Now Manny is requesting extra drug testing. Do you see Pacquiao fans getting on his case for that? Of course not, they will defend it. That's what fans do, they defend their guy. Everyone contradicts themselves.
