at the scene...he said the delahoya fight they gave him heavyweight gloves..he is asking for 8oz if not 10oz gloves...8oz to 10oz makes a difference? and doesnt that help cotto as well as it does mayweather?

Floyd is always changing his story.

Why would Oscar - the puncher ask for bigger gloves ?

Look at the gloves Floyd wore against Zab for the true Mayweather.

Floyd is only saying this to keep his pride , when he knows in reality he will have those big Grant gloves for protection.

Floyd says this to gain publicity and get undeserved props but will change the contract the night before the fight like he did with JMM

That means he's hoping to score a KO.

Smaller gloves will help Mayweather inflict more damage Cotto's face and cut him. The reverse applies as well, so for Floyd it is a risk worth taking.

It's fact that Oscar demanded the 10 oz gloves.Floyd complained before and after the fight.I think Oscar was more worried about how often he would get it more than how hard.
Both Floyd and Zab wore 8 oz just different brands.Lampley explains it if you watch again, but Floyds did look bigger.
Floyd obviously fancies getting a stoppage against Cotto!

:conf I wouldn't make too much of the gloves, the ring size, the weight limit, the location, the mouth pieces, the ref, the judges, the decals on the ****ing canvas. It's all of very little significance, here.

Not that i dont agree with you as I dont have the facts like you have shown above , but when being the bigger draw against the likes of Hatton , Baldomir and JMM he wanted 10 oz gloves , so Floyd has had options before .

Also again I dont know , but those winning gloves against Judah are the biggest 8 oz gloves I have ever seen.

I dont think Floyd has wore 8 oz gloves in 5 years and I dont think he will start now.

    peace.

I agree, we should focus on more important things, like the socks.
