As I have said in another post those are winning gloves and if they are 8 oz then they are clearly the biggest 8 oz gloves ever!!!

Why is this even a story? Nevada + 154 pounds = 8 oz gloves, unless a special exception is granted.

All of Floyds gloves have been 8oz with the exception for the DLH fight.

In an interview with Roger (may have been on 24/7) Roger explained thats how Floyd and most fighters got bad hands by wearing small gloves.

Don't listen to him, he don't know sh1t about boxing!

What do you mean "if" you know full well they ARE 8oz gloves. (even after you tried to imply they were 10oz)

Its not actually its 147 + Nevada = 8oz and even then that was amended in 2008 because up to that point it used to be only 140 + Nevada = 8oz.

But it should be cleared no problem.....

They were the same size at the Judah fight-same weight gloves for both fighters.

Grant is not known for being a cushion glove or anything like that-It also is not known as a punchers glove like a Cleto Reyes...

Fans like this just form their opinions based on a fighters personal actions...You should try forming an opinion of a fighter, based on their boxing ability and skills.

That poster doesn't form opinions based off a fighter and his skills.

He forms his opinion based on what a fighter does outside of the ring...he thinks that's the best way to judge a fighter and how they act inside of the ring it seems...

We all know Floyd wants the gloves because he wants to be able to land solid flush with a glove that won't take away from anything-If Cotto gets hurt, Floyd will finish him...I'm gonna reference round 1 and roun 2 where Zab had Cotto hurt and couldn't finish him (low blow or whatever the case)...Floyd will sneak that uppercut or a straight right hand and finish em off..something Zab did not have the mentality to do.:good

I think the Oscar fight is the only time he wore 10 oz,if not one of the few.You do know that there are different type's of glove that would weigh the same. Some suit punchers, where others protect the hands more but would be 8 oz also.
And yes,his gloves looked very big against Zab,but Zabs looked smaller than usual too!

This. Floyd knows he cant ko cotto, but he might just be able to tko him with accurate shots which will force the doc/ref to stop it. Cottos skin isnt the strongest out there.

not only will the smaller gloves hurt cotto more, what this also tells me is floyd wants to be faster, and is potentially thinking that cotto must be worn down with damage over many rounds as opposed to an early stoppage, but that he believes he can stop him later in the fight.
