:huh If Canelo is too big for Floyd all he has to do is come out and say it. Nobody is demanding Floyd steps up to 154 to fight Canelo. All that we're saying is IF he wants to fight Canelo then he shouldn't make him come down and instead Mayweather should move up and adhere to the rules in place. If the doesn't like those rules then stay at 147 and keep fighting welterweights.

It's ridiculous. You can't pick and choose when it is and isn't ok to fight at 154, whilst at the same time holding belts and being the number one rated guy of that division for a year. Then when someone from it pops up that is a threat, you want to impose new rules and claim to be too small for them? What a joke.

He never says anything about potential opponents these days. Schaefer, espinoza and now canelo's coach have said they have been negotiating.

Ok but everyone in this thread is pissed of at Mayweather for calling out Alvarez but then refusing to do it at 154lbs?

Mayweather was pretty open about going to to Light Middle one time and that he sees himself as a Welterweight.

If the WBA, The Ring, and yourself chose to rank him at Light Middle....that your own problem.

:deal And Mayweather isn't exactly a small weltwerweight and has already fought at 154 anyway. Mayweather simply doesn't want the fight if he won't budge on 147. It would also be hypocritical after he slagged Pac for making Cotto drain himself with such a demand.

I'd agree with that Gaz, if Alverez was a LMW...at 154 he weighs as much as Carl Froch does on fight night

Schaefer has said that Floyd wants to fight Canelo and we know from several sources that he wants it at 147.

"He’s always fought anyone and everyone and I know that with 'Canelo,' that’s the fight he really wants"

Fight Alvarez at 154 but have a stipulation stating that fighters can't weigh more than the middleweight limit when they climb into the ring....a $1m fine for every pound over

The thread starter says Canelo's trainer has told the press that Floyd wants Alvarez to come down to 147. Is that not a **** move from Floyd? He knows Canelo can't make 147 so it's effectively a way of saying he doesn't want the fight but he'll be able to claim that Canelo was offered the fight but turned it down.

Absolutely agree. Why do people want to see 2 fighters in the ring separated by 20lbs??

Have a fight night stipulation of 160 and be done with it.
