So you're saying that official belts from the major sanctioning bodies, and linear titles as bestowed by ring magazine, are LESS meaningful than belts specifically invented for the sole purpose of being given to one fighter on the basis of one fight? I just want to be clear that you are, indeed, saying exactly that.

I know the expression is that the man makes the belt, but in this case it was literally a group of men who made up a belt.

Since no belts mean anything I guess we just shouldn't have champions anymore.

Agree. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd walked the shorter Pac down for a KO

Lol, Floyd, what a jealous little mother****er. Pac went out and beat the best in his divisions. He took the toughest challenges. That's why they recognise him as being a legit champ or the best in those divisions, even if he didn't hold a precious WBC belt. Floyd beat paper titlists and **** champions at 140, 147 and 154 for his so great WBC belts, and never bothered to fight anyone else worth a lick, while claiming he was the GOAT because of it. That's why he and those achievements gets no respect. It's not deserved.

Let me see, Hatton was the Ring champ, the lineal champ, the undisputed champ and he was never beaten at that weight so how the **** was he not champ? If you mean Pac was not a "titlist" at 140 maybe you have a point, although technically IBO is a title, but he was definitely a "champion" by every definition of the word.

The world sees him as the 7time world champ. Deal with it, the writers write history, not some ESB poster.

Technically this is killing boxing, you've got like 5 world belts at one weight and you fight the weakest and you become the champ at that weight, that's mocking the true warriors who beat the best in a weight ( the champs who beat the contenders in that weight class and are nothing but the best).

Pac is a 4 time lineal champ. Which means that 4 times he beat the best in a weight. He IS one of those warriors you are reffering to.
